wow exactly my idea for Heinz but ogilvy has done this already 3 oder 4 years ago. won nothing...

It's such a difficult brief to work with cause a lot of cool stuff have been done for products like this.
Good effort but still in the "more of the same" category. Plus, the art direction is weak.

Heads's picture 194 pencils

I doubt that there was a brief in the first place.

brain123's picture 840 pencils

Let's give them the benefit of the doubt.

condemac's picture 80 pencils

I like this kind of comment.

sumsum's picture 623 pencils

oooooooooold.

joestamp's picture 132 pencils

okay its been done before or kind of feels a bit samey but how is the art direction weak?
how could they have possibly improved the art direction? its a tired cliche to just slap on the old saying 'the art direction is weak' you don't know what you are talking about! chump!

brain123's picture 840 pencils

Really? How many times have we seen the white plate of "shaped" food on a white background ?
They could have used a nice table cloth at least, or set the plate on a table at a dinner or a fast food restaurant, even a house kitchen.
Any of those would have been a stronger - less boring- choice of art direction for an already tired idea.
Stay in school Joe...

Ad_Man's picture 832 pencils

agree with you brain123... touché.

Think it for a while.
Then, in anytime, it will come to your mind as an idea.

the_capywriter's picture 2895 pencils

I don't know about all the remarks on the art direction. Just curious... wouldn't all those extra elements, especially when placing the plate in a kitchen or restaurant environment, work distracting? Tell me.
I could see this plate on a nice table cloth though...

- adsactly! -

brain123's picture 840 pencils

As long as the plate remains in the foreground like it is, the extra elements wouldn't be distracting. They would only give the situation a time and place, which would be actually good.

nemesis's picture 653 pencils

Not a bad idea, but the concept has been used many times before. Heinz did it very similar, but instead of a bonfire it was the fry as a match and the ketchup the flame.

And I agree with the comment that the art direction could've been more interesting.

THIS IS NADEEM CONTRACTOR'S IDEA

stitchy's picture 515 pencils

2 creative director 1 art director in 1 print ad?

dadada's picture 345 pencils

always the CDs play together and smoke herbs with feet on desks and get the idea, and the AD embark the whole work!

ogilvyandmenon's picture 178 pencils

lol... fact of life

gbl's picture 210 pencils

cool, but old. Agree with brain about the art. With another art solution, they could have saved the ad.

unaquestionediali's picture 473 pencils

I like it very much.

Way too close to Burger King's famous "Fiery Fries" ad from way back when.

It's the same idea with a similar execution.

This ad does the job, but that's about it.

This print won award in local competition.
But this idea has been done by Ogilvy Germany in 2005.
