you're right, it shouldn't be mindless criticism.

These ads are very poor because the play to a tired Irish stereotype that should have died off with 'The Quiet Man'.
There's no discernable differentiation from other irish whiskeys and the art direction, while well enough executed, is also steeped in cliche.
