I like the idea of a long copy resume. But the hook to get you reading - "People just don't read long copy ads anymore" has been done a billion times... by Neil French alone (if I didn't know better I would say old Neil is a one trick pony). As an ad guy this made me almost not read it. It would be cool if there was a more original way to get me into it. Also the asterisk about not winning awards you can leave out. It unintentionally adds a tinge of doubt. Good CD's will know you're ability and award potential just by looking at your book.

Not bad for an offbeat resume.
But you misspelled "edumacation".

is that really a typo? I thought it was a word, is it supposed to be "education"? and not "edumacation"

That's funny, 'cause "edumacation" isn't a word either. But you're catching on ;)

This CV perfectly fits with what he wants to do and is doing...so i think it is the best way to sell yourself as a copywriter, even if you take the risk of not being read.
But ya..try to avoid mistakes! ;)

Brahmstein, this made me want to keep reading, and it's anything but boring. It's clever and funny. You can't write that masterpiece and not notice edumacation is spelled that way, I say it's a play on words!

It's damn good. Really well done.*

*That guy's right about the asterisk, though. You could lose that.

Hint: Saxomaphone.

We are meant to be culturally aware, ad people.

And The Simpsons are Culture 101.

Imbimaciles! ;)

Hey 2010-12-09 20:11

It's a typo. It's spelled "edumacation" and not "edumaction". (Also, Francais should be in lowercase and he could ease up a bit on the Oxford commas.)

But still a solid idea. However, I'm not entirely sure why so many long copy ads get such similar art direction treatment these days.
