Having said that, a couple of 'don't understand' comment above suggests that a copy connecting the matter would have helped. (Btw, it would have spoiled the fun also)

I think that it is showing that the movie was delivered so fast that he didn't have time to get fully dressed. if that is the case then I think it works well IMO.
