this is a icon of rock too...
Mick Jagger and others rock stars play the tambourine in many shows... and Mick do this since 60's.
do some research before make a mistake.

no...it´s not rock.... In the ad the "rock" is in the action, in the violence and not in the instrument... i think...

rock is the music of "PEACE & LOVE way of life" back 60's and 70's.
and NO, this is not to show the action, they sure wish to destroy the instruments they believe (wrong) dont have connection with rock history...

They used two instruments that are used in rock. They pretty much pigeon-holed rock into a guitar/drummer/front man only music genre. Weak.

Rock for people who know nothing about rock. Everyone uses tamborines. Even metal bands like Sepultura, who hail from the same country as this ad.

I kind of get what they're trying to do here, playing with the smashing instruments idea, but the execution is kind of muddy. It's a smashed tambourine, but a lot of rock and roll musicians use tambourines. I think the idea's a little muddy too, because of the copy. When you say rock, that right there is already a massive genre to toy with. It's like saying "only Pop"--I mean what's rock and roll to everyone anyways? Is rock and roll just about smashing instruments to smithereens? That's stepping onto a minefield I think. But that's just me.

I think the idea and the execution could still be stretched further.
