Ad People should get this, but I believe a tag line would be needed to help out the Sheeple.
...but when you actually NEED an expalation beneath the ad, you get nothing. What is it for, speakers? alarm clocks? sleeping pills? hearing aids?
That's me!

"when you actually NEED an explanation beneath the ad, you get nothing"
Disagree. In this case you would get to understand the ad (which by your admission, you don't).
The idea is that she sleeps so well, she needs all the speakers to wake her. So, I guess the straight line would be something like, 'BedShed. For a deeper sleep.' (I'm no writer, but you see my point).
I think the point was nobody knows what the ad is for. What's the product or service? Is it advertising for the sheets? For the Pillow? For a sleeping pill? What?
If you need a cut-line to explain what the ad is for, then the ad failed in the first place. This ad is visually nice, but what the hell is the product?
Right, I don't get it. All I see is sleeping well and lots of speakers, but I don't know what it's supposed to sell, or let me know, or what.
For me it might a bad ad for an association for the deaf, a good ad for a sleeping pill, or maybe even for an electronics store where you can get new speakers.
That's me!

It's not necessarily a tagline or an explanation, but a nicely written headline could be enough to pull the ad together. I am sick and tired of postcard pretty ads that don't really say anything about the brand or what they do. What is the purpose of this ad? What is it meant to promote or sell? Just because you have a logo and a pretty picture doesn't mean you have a great ad.
Good but not great, Bedshed: Speakers is simple, somewhat funny and nothing more.
boring idea...this makes me sleep also.
Simple ideas are the best !
I want to sleep
Wow that's weird...I'm doing a sleeping pill brief this week at the moment at award school and I had this exact idea sketched up. Apparently its a bit crap so I'm glad I found it on here before I presented it...
It's strange to see so many negative comments on such a good ad. I think it's different and fresh. Although i do agree that you don't get whether they are talking mattress or bedspread!
Definitely unclear
Unclear
it would be great if i only knew what bedshed is?
agree.
I actually had to go to the website to find out what Bedshed was. Then I went "oh" and realised what is was, and was disappointed with what they were trying to say.
The concept actually doesn't work out for product
Come on people if you are in this webpage is because you like advertising, you should really understand this, the brand is called Bedshed so it's clearly not an ad for a speaker or a clock.
I thought the ad was for the snoozer
confusing
I'm in an agency in the same city and I think it's a great idea and one that makes you stick around to think about it. Mark Lucas, Lateral Aspect
Weird...I'm doing award school in aus at the moment and our brief this week is for a sleeping tablet. I had this exact same ad drawn up and ready to present tomorrow. I'll be scrapping it now.

The bed may be very confortable but i could never sleep with so many pillows.
You have to be pretty thick not to understand this. Does the bed shaped Bedshed logo in the corner not make it glaringly obvious what it's for?
