To be honest, they're not 'award winning' quality. They're too obvious and too specific to a pop-culture reference ... oh wait...
Actually, in all seriousness, the idea is good but if you really don't know the characters from Scream, Friday the 13th, etc you just won't get it and that could be a lot of people you 'miss' when trying to sell the product.
Personally, I would've gone with a more 'general strategy, like a guy grabbing on to his mother-in-law :)
