Some of you need to get off your high horses. It's "wrong", "you won't buy this ice cream", etc. I will tell you what's wrong. Priests sexually abusing boys. I personally don't like the campaign either because this approach (making fun of religion) has been done a million times. I'm giving it 4 stars just for the good photography and typography. However, if the ice cream is good, I'd still buy it.
I agree with you for the 4 stars. I agree with you that priests sexually abusing boys is wrong... but this is 02% of the world priests that did those wrong things.(we must not generalize like all medias doo about everything today ) For the ice cream, believe me, they all taste about the same so this brand is linked to a stupid message. David Ogilvy used to say ' you sell or else" but he always respected people and brands. How many of us "ad makers" go today on easy ideas with sex, religion, racism....just to be sensational ?

I agree with your point, which, to my way of thinking, basically says that advertising is irrelevant to the choices I make. -- Don't need to be cool, don't need to be on the trend, don't need it because a celebrity uses it, don't need to prove my worth to myself or anyone else through what I buy or own.

It's hard to find a client that has the balls to do something different and risky (they get top marks for that).
Unfortunately, I think the agency missed the opportunity by delivering a sophomoric and outdated campaign.

..it's so unfair to say 'that'! we all know how hard it is to get those rewarding relevant & radical ideas, at once, while we have {we hope especially in now days} another 17.6 jobs going on at the same time! ..but, look, that gay priest idea that happens to answer the brief, also had to be accepted! and then yourself accepts!..and then the security guard accepts! ..an then the next creative accepts! ..and then the head creative director accepts! ,and then the general manager accepts! and then the client accepts! ..and it gets done & published! ..really guys, let's say to 'Matt O' Connor & his m8's', braaaAAAaavo! ..please, you know they deserve it! think of you & all your rejected, brave, winning ideas rusting in your brain cells!
