The exact way of the brush (dog, candy) would have being up side down…
sketch, froized paper : déjà vu.

But it is perfectly comprehensible.

You might hack your head open with hard drugs?

Really??

You think that maybe just once we can talk about drugs like grown ups, and not a bunch of shadow-fearing mountain folk?

How about saying that the chemical reaction in your body after you've taken a pill is similar to the way acid breaks down a compound. You'll experience a high that your body produces because it thinks you're about to die. And that's why drugs are bad.

This whole "you'll put a baby in the oven" style of drug awareness is just irresponsible. Who here has taken drugs? Who here has pan fried an infant or taken a meat cleaver to their own scalp?

We're already going to hell for working in advertising. Let's not make it worse.

You can all eat my "O" hole out with either jelly and/or syrup. Personally I prefer syrup.

What a social comment. Maybe you should go into politics.

I'm Offlattered. Equal parts offended and flattered.

did you do drugs?

or what makes you such an expert?

Disco Munky's picture 3934 pencils

Nobody claimed to be an expert.

Just look at where this style of advertising has gotten us and ask yourself if it's working.

Bingo has been called. This kind of ad is all warm and cuddly but it doesnt address the reason take drugs in the first place. It's yet anther "public service" campaign that misses the audience by a dozen country miles.

Here, let me save everyone the trouble of asking. "Do you even work in advertising?"

Guest commenter's picture

I was asking you because of this:

"How about saying that the chemical reaction in your body after you've taken a pill is similar to the way acid breaks down a compound. You'll experience a high that your body produces because it thinks you're about to die. And that's why drugs are bad."

which of course is a complete BS.

I was just checking whether you've been joking or not.

Disco Munky's picture 3934 pencils

What does that have to do with actually taking drugs?

I was talking about the way we communicate a message.

I think you should look into how drugs really work before saying things are BS. I wasn't talking about ALL drugs, just some types.

well, I never said this ad is any good. I was asking you if you're really serious on the things you wrote and I quoted.

and trust me... I know much better how drugs work and why they're really bad. much much much better than this academic BS.

Disco Munky's picture 3934 pencils

So this is about you knowing more about drugs than me?

................seriously?

You haven't made any real sense this whole time.

The ads approach to drug awareness is dated and un-informative. I expressed this with an example of a different possible approach. You called into question my knowledge of how drugs work, and now you're saying you don't rate the ad either.

What's your game pal?

first of all - yes, this is about me knowing more about drugs than you. a hell of a lot more. not some party knowledge crap.

second of all. I didn't question your knowledge of how drugs work but why they're bad. and computational logic has got nothing to do with it.

third of all. I was saying that your example (not neccessarily approach) is wrong. your example would probably increase the using of the drugs ('experimental effect' among recreational users, new fascination among heavy users, all other TA's don't matter).

fourth. OK, ad is bad. satisfied?

Disco Munky's picture 3934 pencils

I at no point said anything about my knowledge of the workings of drugs or what my moral position is on them or why I think that some drugs are bad.

My example was there to illustrate an approach, not an example of of the exact workings of drugs.

In this day and age of Google and Wikkipedia and the likes, who can really claim (on a message board no less) to know more about anything than anyone?

You're starting to sound a little "banana sandwich".

The brush should be turned up side down. It's very basic optics of how the brian flips the image once the eye sees it. A little research next time!

Guest commenter's picture

On the retina, not in the brain. Forced ideea though. Nice illustration. Boring art direction.

This wont by far communicate to those who it needs to.
