i am lost in translation

The man who stops advertising to save money is like the man who stops the clock to save time

So am i.....If we could change history we could change this Ad, and discover it's potential!!!!!

Very impressive visuals !!
But does "change" always mean "reverse the roles" ?
I think if i could change history, i would change many things…

I think what they are getting at is that we can't change history... so let's just stop racism. Poorly executed ad of a great message.

So, black people making all the white people slaves ISN'T racist?

This campaign was done by an 8-year-old.

"I love everything"

Wait... i think i get it... so, even if we reversed the roles, it WOULD still be racist? Is that right?

I don't think it's the translation. I think it's the concept that's confusing.

Did you even read the copy?!? It says we would change nothing! meaning 2 wrongs do not make a right! They are not saying to reverse the roles! However, a better solution would be to show an illustration juxtaposed to the one in the ad, where the different races are getting along or hugging or something. Great initial idea, badly executed ad...

Sorry Sirvan, I posted this right before your reply above. Cheers.

i think u hav completely messed up.. they r saying abt role reversels
d ad says 'if we could change history'could means if it was in our hands 'we would change nothing' would means still there will be racism, done by blacks on whites... so 'Lets stop racism' lets means altogether.

"there is art in everything"

El copy debería ser: IF WE COULD CHANGE HISTORY, WE WOULDN'T CHANGE ANYTHING. LET'S STOP RACISM. Vale la pena que lo cambien para mandarlo a festivales. La campaña está buena. Por lo menos diferente. Buena dirección de arte.

maashookshee's picture 390 pencils

idea and execution is great as well as the body copy full respect for that .. the only thing is the tag line is really boring because stooping racism is the change we all looking for .. so if we get the power to change history and can not do so how we well stop or change racism..

The implication is that if "we" (as in black people) could change history, then "we" would change the roles and be the masters. That's a confusing concept because it relies on the person reading the ad to assume that black people would all decide to reverse the roles. Not effective because it's over so many heads. Effective once the message is clear, which it is not. Interesting take though.

You are so right. I don't think I would want anyone enslaved. Especially not my white brothers.
Racism is hard to everyone on both sides of the um, whip.

Not very clear.

Enough with the white guilt already. How about showing the cruelty other races have inflicted on others. But yeah, reversals - sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.
