problem with this is, the whole face squished up against the glass thing, especially the way this is shot, makes it comedic.

Totally agreed! Adding that 'face on the plastic' spoil the idea. It's just funny now.

I think that I could in front of have a little steam its face, since this forehead to a glass and breathing in front of him produces that sensation. Good idea.
