First time I saw this I thought: Cannes. I don't think I'm far from the truth. Great work guys. Congratz.

How can you not give 10 points to that campaign. Great idea, great execution. Especially the logo interegration is superb.

Agree with your comment.

I must be missing something, because if this is Cannes-worthy, the standards must have changed radically. These are cute and sorta appealing visually, but you have to look at more than a couple to get what they're trying to do from a message point of view. Nice, but not quite there.

Right. That's your best response?

You must be a real gem of a copywriter, bud. Tell me, how're those mid-term projects coming along? Think you'll pass?

Dear Sean, I *know* you work in advertising, AND you're an illustrator. Having said that, don't you agree these are awesome illustrations? Look at the way the eyes are made, just grrrreat. I agree with most of the commenters here, this is a great campaign. If you don't agree Sean, that's okay. But don't be surprised if this *does* win a lion in Cannes.

As I said at the very beginning, I think they're cute. I dont think some of them work as stand-alones (the magician one, for example, because the body split isnt as well defined as it could be), but that's just my take. But is this Cannes-worthy material the way people here are raving? No. We've had far better campaigns through here in the past few months. Let me underscore again, for the reading-impaired: I like them from a visual standpoint. They're fun, if sometimes a little difficult to read. But that's about it. This is a case that, for me, would probably work *far* better in video than print. As they stand right now: close, but not quite there.

And I detect a bit of cluelessness in yours. What, just because the rest of the crew likes this, I'm supposed to go wild and declare it a Cannes winner as well? Hey, fine, if that's what you need, bubba. I mean, seriously, if it makes you feel good about all the sorry-ass retorts you leave after my comments, go for it -- add another. For myself, sorry, but I've been in this long enough to be *long* past the need to promote my portfolio. I guess you fall in the "reading impaired" category, and, sadly, there's nothing to be done about it. Now, why dont you go finish your website? Then we'll all check your fifteen years of experience out. Wont that be a blast?

It seems like nothing on this site gets your juices flowing. If nothing can impress you, then maybe it's time to move on. You sound like an old fart that has done/seen everything and can't possibly appreciate someone else's work.

Sean, settle down on the elitism!

Someone who's been working fifteen years may have no better ideas than someone who's straight out of college/tafe/uni. Or, their experience might make ad noobs look like... well... noobs. I like to think it's a healthy dose of both, but I'm naive. :)

I don't work in advertising, there, I've admitted it. Three years of tafe to be a designer, and I'm stuck as an illustrator for a defence company who thinks white space means space for more screenshots. Does that mean I can't have an opinion on these ads? Surely everyone should be allowed to discuss; people who have been in the advertising industry a long time may get out of touch with laymen (and let's face it, clients tend to skew everything anyway).

I don't have a problem with you not thinking this is Cannes material (I, personally, loved it, but did scratch my head at people going so ape), but the elitism isn't going to make you popular.

Yeah, I should've left well enough alone, but I just can't help myself. :)

I'm going to agree with strtlrs on this one. Sean, why so bitter all the time. You always are. It's just a little more obvious now everbody is liking this so much. And being 'in this long enough' might be exactly the reason why you don't see how these are going to win at Cannes.

It is nice to see a simple campaign like this, very fresh idea. Graphically, it's nothing we haven't seen in recent years. Still well done.

Yep, this will be getting lions and pencils when award show time comes around. More importantly they're funny, original and smart as hell. Perhaps best of all, I can see people who aren't total ad nerds really enjoying these. I like the Mafia and Bear ones best, but they are all really fucking solid, smart, simple ads. And so far none of the sarcastic "Seen it" or "Where's the idea" fuckwad comments that usually reign supreme on this site, so they must be really fucking good. Well played guys, well played.

How is 'seen it' sarcastic of anyone to say, if it's done it's done. They aren't around now because it hasn't been done before.
