Click above baffoon!
Thats because simpletons like you dont seem to realize that the Rabs treat their "women" like dirty dogs. SO maybe YOU have "no clue" about the middle east. And this ad sucks because its from Saudi Arabia and because it sucks.

Says the educated, talented and sophisticated Westerner who has experienced more than 3 days in an Arabic country, immersing in its culture, traditions and religious beliefs?
John, its people like you that show up the West for the idiots that it breeds. Not to break into politics, but FUdge CaKe ME, we are 'smart' enough to defend our 'rights' and send troops to fight 'simpletons' and still fail to achieve jack! Its not because our military policies / strategy is wrong - its because we think we are superior and its our way or the high way. Little do we realise we need to understand 'THEM' to become better 'US'.

mildly funny.
The headcover (burqa) looks like a sock. The texture of the actual cloth is light, sort of like silk. Regardless of where it came from - although I personally think it should've been spot on coming from Saudi and specifically Riyadh - the burqa is just treated very badl from an art direction point of view.
the different cloth is the point. it's made out of ski mask cloth for warmth.
I agree, the actual burka fabric is ligth, thoug i imagine it is a winter burka or an air/conditioning bruka, you know, just keeping the traditions thougth the climate :S
I think it's very 'first thought' - Partnership usually create better ads than this. Perhaps the ad was only created to be entered into international award shows (reference the print ad for reading & illiteracy in the Middle East)
And as for you ccsman04, you disgust me. "the Rabs"???? Are you serious? "And this ad sucks because its from Saudi Arabia and because it sucks." You have got to be sh*tting me! Have you ever been to the Middle East? In fact, have you ever left your hick town in Alabama?? You make me sick. And the scary thing is that a simpled-minded zygote such as yourself works in the ad industry. Open your mind a little. Maybe you'd even learn how to find Riyadh on a world map.
a fucking men.
but there are zygotes on both sides though..

i think the art director does know nothing about saudi arabia or the culture in the middle east,& i totaly agree that this is the most stereotypic Ad i ever saw, if the veiled women are the target audience, i guarantee that he delivered the wrong message...
nice ad, i like it!

Air-conditioners & Wool.. why wool?? not logic in this ad

This is a good idea, but the execution could be much better.
That woman should have her eyes covered. Her looks are too arousing and it makes this picture impure.
its so sad that most of them r not getting the idea...
I don't even understand how people can't get this. The idea is simple and nice. I'm not from the middle east so i don't know how it would be perceived there, but for me it's quite straight to the point.
The master commentaries must come from Lolita and Amer (not to talk about the wonderfully extremists points of view of ccsman04 and admalik) you really are funny (in a sad way)...
this ad came from a person who doesn;t know anything any tiny insight about the middle east.
Justus go back to ur country, u might do better ads.

Final art? mmmmmmm
If you need to wear a woolen head scarf in Saudi Arabia because of your AC... there must be something seriously wrong with the AC :p
Typically however, Ad agencies in the ME churn out work and are not briefed properly by clients. Especially in Egypt, clients think they are the customer and even more worrying is the fact that they try and push their 'creative' ideas to the extent that on many occasion I have seen good / excellent work binned for 'client direction' directions.
Of course it is also important to note that clients approve final work to be printed. As much as the agency is at fault, the clients are more so as they are the ones who stick to agencies / have a choice of who they work with and ultimately have the final say!
Terrible.
