my guess is that you a) don't play sports. b) have some sort of "witty ad-cliches uber alles" concept is king mentality c) don't play sports.
True hi-tech is overused, but so is... say... advertising... and when I want to buy new sports equipt. I will be sure to buy the most hi-tech stuff I can get my hands on.
Stuff looks awesome, though it is a bit devoid of concept..
