I'm not sure, what thess ads want to tell me: that only 5% of the award-winners are visible? I don't get it...

Spanky's picture

these are pretty bad. the message is way too vague. 95% of your students will never see a one show pencil? probably true. but not something you'd want to say. besides that, the campaign is the same "idea" 3 times. also, i wouldn't mention award shows in an ad unless i had an award-winning calibre campaign. this is nowhere close.

How about 95% of people who see these will be confused. And I guess the 5% is the "judges" who got it. I am the former.

If you had to name one country that has the highest rate of copied work, like 95% similar to other ideas that appear on here/published first, then it would have to be India. Although China are catching up, but they have just got going in this game, so its to be expected.

Sorry but that is true, not racist just an observation on the subject of ripped ideas.

Strip. Strip. Strip.

Are you guys serious?

Just off the top of my head I ask, What was the last Horror movie to come out of Hollywood that wasn't a re-make of a Japanese film.

It doesn't stop there either.

Anyhoo, imitation is the highest form of flattery, so zip it and bask in the flattery.

exactly. only a complete hack would defend creatives ripping off ideas. refer to the post above mine for proof.

Don't you have a youth camp to supervise or hate crime to commit?

I only ask because you seem like the sort who'd do those things.

It's funny that you say that, considering the words of Helmut Krone:
"I asked one of our young writers recently, which was more important: Doing your own thing or making the ad as good as it can be? The answer was “Doing my own thing.” I disagree violently with that. I’d like to pose a new idea for our age: “Until you’ve got a better answer, you copy.” I copied [famous Doyle Dane art director] Bob Gage for five years."
