proper use of media. like it
Agreed! It's a great use of media. Way to go! My favorite post box piece is still R2D2, though.

?
...and then the creatives were arrested for f*cking with a US postal box. kinda cool though.
'Xactly! It's a Federal Government property. A fun spec ad, nonetheless.
It's all fake on this website, right??? ;P
howcome the falls got narrower??
maybe steps to the subway would've been better..
ideas....30 minutes nahi toh free.
hey u kalpesh fucking 78, u seem to be a real idiot
it's nice to bring Niagara Falls to top of mind, but other than that the use of media is kind of irrelevant. what do Niagara Falls have to do with mail or mailboxes - or the other way around? not much!
the Canadian side of the mailbox looks nicer.
YOU ARE SO FUNNY!!! :D
pretty nice, its not disturbing or irritating your eyesight
Great! Perfect use of media. One of the rare occasions that an ad actually ads to our environment. Love it!!!
How could anyone even mention that horrible Star Wars thing?
The R2D2 was just bad stickers and did not even look like R2D2.
This Niagara Falls idea pre-dates that Star Wars thing.
I remember reading a story in the NY Times that said this was
the first time this medium was used for any type of advertising and how
the Post Office actually gave clearance for usage of this media space.
So it was not just a paste and run type of thing.
Haters, do your research before you assume everything is fake.
I actually saw this in person on Houston St. in Manhattan and took photos of it.
It was awesome!
One of the few truly original ideas on this site!
KNARF, are you hiring?
Thanks for standing up for this piece Mr. Moore. I'm with you!
I read that article too and I agree that this destroys that R2D2 one, which had no idea.
This was done first anyways.
This should win the Ads of the World award for best use of media.
I can't see how this medium could possibly be used in a better way.
Great!!!
Nice.

Not the same concept as the one done by AlmapBBDO.
Way to go baby. I love it!
Nice work. Very forward thinking.
this is ok, not that good.
work very well in the pic2, the close one.
on the mail box is like a microfall.
and... it's winter, water falling dont excite, i think.

Love it! Great!
great use of the media congrats
To say it's great use of media still does not due this idea justice.
This media was made for ideas like this. Incredible!
We've all seen the posters that curl, etc. and that's fine while being really contrived.
This on the other hand is just perfect!!! What a gem!
One of my favorites in a very long time. Bravo KNARF!
Nice. Great that the post office let the agency do this.
I read that NY Times article as well.
Nice to see that some of this ambient work is legit.
Very cool.
Nice one!
Beautifully done.
I agree. Truly innovative.
Wow, we've got some steak going here.
Good use for one of those, albiet not the most original in the image selection, but I applaud your effort and am happy to see that emtpy space finally be put to work.
Very awesome.
GREAT.
I agree. Very clean way of putting an ad in public. Love it.
It's very good. Great may be an overstatement. But definitely good.
Frank Anselmo teaches at School of Visual Arts and this is all of his student's work. None of it has been published. So that "agency", KNARF...
Dear Hater,
Your comment prompted me to go onto the niagarachamber.org website where I simply wrote an email and asked the client if this idea ran. They wrote back and confirmed that it was indeed officially produced. Go to the site and ask them yourself. And check out this link: http://adage.com/songsforsoap/post?article_id=133669 This homeless spot by KNARF is even on the company's website. Radiohead donated music to it too. No foul play at all.
Get your research right next time you asshole.
Way to set the record straight! It was stated long ago that this piece was seen on the street (read jackmoore257's post), yet haters still take cheap shots, making false claims. That's the reason I don't really spend much time reading anything on this site anymore. Lots of angry people who don't criticize the work or speak any truth. And usually it's the no-talent-hacks who are jealous. That's clearly evident here. And in this economy where the hacks have no jobs, they're really angry.
But how great is this piece? Anyone who puts down a piece like this needs a reality check. It fully embodies what outdoor, environmental advertising can do.
Great!
The people in the industry who matter don't waste their time putting down others.
They're busy doing great work like this one.
Like previously stated, I actually saw a few of these on the street.
It definitely ran. If you go on flickr several people have photos of it as well.
I did read that students helped out, but it was indeed produced. So what?
You really should not talk smack if you don't have the correct information.
Not cool. Especially when the people you're criticizing are both talented & reputable.
Seems that this economy has got the haters hating more. Go KNARF! Keep it up.
Awesome!
I agree. Nice one!

Greeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaat! There we go. I've been searching around on this site for something truly original.
Phenomenal!!!
I'm with the majority on this one. Great.
Greeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaat!
Frank Anselmo is a hack that steals from his students.
Wow. A bit harsh. Well I happen to really like mostly everything his name is on.
And if students ever contribute in producing great work, more power to them.
Why so many hater on this site? FA, know that you have BIG fans here!
Nice thought, but wrong use of product at the wrong spot. Plus, "show-and-tell" idea doesn't seems to be much interesting.
This piece was done back in 2007 in my Guerilla Ad Class at SVA. It was a student piece by a classmate and it was actually done before the r2d2 campaign. This was actually produced in the field on a number of post boxes and is totally legit. I liked it. Very nice piece.
