Guys, you definetly gotta a long way on understading youth. Street art ain't antisocial behavior, it's art. In one of its coolest forms! A real gift to the ugly grey city streets of the world. A touch of colorful expression, done for free. A gift for you and me. Sorry, this campaign's got the wrong concept!
Man, you are right! how can this pepole think that?
I think it is a bit hard to group all writers together. What most "graffiti artists" truly admire doesn't really bring color to a block near you. This comment section is not really the place to go into tags, throwups, murals, and everything else in between. From my understanding though, some writers get into it, because of a mentor or an appreciation for the art as they grew up around it. However, there are cases of some using it as a high to escape from hard drugs.
What the campaign makes me wonder is what happens from here on. Do people reach out to the youth and they give up graffiti or is this campaign done to have the community and young writers live in harmony?

You guys really have a long way on understanding youths mind. Street art's got nothing to do with antisocial behaviour! It's one of the coolest art forms nowadays! A real gift to the boring grey streets of world's major cities. If you still think street art is a social problem, you're so not talking to your target.

Not everyone's Banksy. Most of the tagging in Auckland is done by little fuckwits in youth gangs and it's (usually) more of an eyesore than an artwork.

The target isn't young people. If we can stereotype, the target is middle-aged solid citizens who aren't tolerant of graffiti. Read the story. The aim is, as the copy quaintly puts it, "helping our community understand our youth". That doesn't mean to help youth understand youth.

I don't think this Idea does the job. If I saw this I would think to my self "so what". I don't think that being antisocial would mean that one is crying for help - not true. Another thing they should have considered is that graffiti artist voice out their ideas by painting not their problems. Love the art work though!
