BooneOakley.com: Website on YouTube
It's best if you watch it directly on YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Elo7WeIydh8
Platform: Linked videos on YouTube.
BooneOakley believes it is the first ad agency to put its website on YouTube.
Contextual theme: Story of Billy, the disastrously failed marketing director.
David Oakley: “We needed a new way to tell our story, and today the best forum for a story is YouTube, where we can use narration and really crappy animation. As an embeddable video, the new BooneOakley website presents our work in a unique, and also more easily accessible, way. And it can live anywhere that supports YouTube videos, including blogs, other websites, and many cell phones.”

f*cking great :)
awesome!!!
No. Borrowed interest and gimmickery.
It's not a bad VEHICLE for communicating –a clickable Youtube vid– and the content's not bad... but to have that be your entire website is short-sited and pretentious.
And yes, it IS their whole website.
Too bad, because they usually do some pretty good work.

"I love everything"
It's not just one video. It's a whole bunch of videos interlinked.
Yeah... I gave it quite a bit of time. It's well written, and it's a nifty example of what you CAN do w/ YouTube. But it's still a gimmick.

"I love everything"
I respect your opinion, but I'm going to have to disagree. If this makes any point at all, it's that they understand how the next generation of web communication is taking place, its not making a viral , print, and television spots to direct people to your site. It's using the web 2.0 sites that people are familiar using and navigating; then developing, hosting, and promoting your content there. No un heard of plug-ins to download, and no crazy loading durations. I'm pretty sure modernista! did something like this with web 2.0 sites.I'd put them in the same category of forward thinkers.
Great Stuff....
nice
yeah whatever!!!!

Jealous much?
amazing!!!!!!! you really know how to do it
I love this.
It's taking so long to load that I am bored and am not going to watch it.
get broadband :P
Started playing right away when I clicked on it. Took a minute to load the whole way, but at least I had somethin to watch instead of a boring loading screen. All and all, I spent way more time poking around this site than I can remember ever doing on a company's site. Nice work.
Funny but it's s too long
Very nice agency intro. Clearly marks their claim to be different, though the pokes at the 'big 4' were a bit lame.
'The Ones' is clearly a cheap rip off of The Simpsons 'Stonecutters' "We do" song as well. But they are not the first or last to rip off The Simpsons. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBav72i7I3s&feature=related
really smart
Quite really.
yeah...i think the simpsons rip is on purpose. i'm not in advertising and don't particularly care for agencies, but i love this site.
Saw this on Twitter a few days ago. It's getting insanely high marks there, but I have to admit, web people and non-ad people seem to love this. Well done, Boone Oakley. Wish we were as digitally relevant as you now are.
GReat!!!!
Love the music :D
Todos somos ignorantes, pero no todos ignoramos lo mismo.
Congratulations on having no fear of you own sense of humor.
This is just purely brilliant. Extremely clever demonstration of their understanding of how to leverage new media. Just fantastic.

Just great. Brilliant work.
cool
This just goes to show you where they are on their understanding of the interwebs. Modernista! 's web site is smart like this too...not as funny, but pretty smart.
Awesome work guys, you deserve your moment.
Just checked thefwa.com and they made it to site of the day, most likely make it to SOTM.
