Cinemanila, the largest and longest running international film festival in the Philippines pays homage to immortal stories, one of which is the long forgotten tradition of Filipino serenading called 'Harana'. During the awards night, a film entitled 'Harana' directed by Florante Aguilar and Benito Bautista about the search for the lost art of serenade was screened.
Film advertisment created by TBWA, Philippines for Cinemanila, within the category: Recreation, Leisure.
O, light, in the cold night
You're like a star in the sky
O, light, in the quiet night
Your picture, Neneng
makes one hurt. Oh!
Awake and arise from slumber
From your sleep so deep
Open your window
and look out to me
So that you may understand
my true lament.
We remember the men who sang for the women they loved.
In memory of the lost art of Harana (the Serenade)
Stories live on. Cinemanila International Film Festival.
