RIVE Syphilis awareness message: Syphilis sucks

Though the idea of using protection during sex is generally apprehended, people tend to think unprotected oral sex is ok, and rarely use condoms when it comes to going down on someone. The challenge was to generate an awareness emphasizing the fact that STIs are also transmitted during oral sex. Especially syphilis!

Here is the tv ad as well.

Innovative idea, but I bet the majority (if not all) people did not use the condoms during oral sex. In fact, I would say that no campaign would ever convince most people to use condoms during oral sex (unless one person is HIV+).

I agree. Although a nice, fresh, creative idea I highly doubt whether this campaign will have encouraged anybody to use condoms during oral sex. However, if the aim of the campaign was simply to raise awareness of the possibility of catching syphilis through unprotected oral sex then it has succeeded.

One thing I would say though, is that it only raises awareness of catching syphilis from unprotected oral sex on a male. A free condom doesn't help much to protect you when performing oral sex on a female!

I usually hate puns, but this one somehow works. Not bad.

This is really informative. I mean, who would have thought that infections would not be contracted orally?
@atb2005 and dan_1985: This campaign merely emphasizes that you need need to suck on nothing except for lollipops :-)

Hope this reaches a lot of people out there, IT IS AMAZING (",)

Because they're free it'll probably end up with one group of people taking ALL these cards at one time leaving barely any exposure to others.

Sorry for being pessimistic :<

thats what mall cops are for. honestly though I dont think that happens to much outside of the younger high school crowd, if the stand is placed in a more mature community then itll probably be safe.

nice. what a 'subtle' way to give away free contraceptives with message in tow.

Nice art direction and mildly suitable name for the art director.
