N E A T!!!!
but "if you pay a prostitute..."!!??!!
who's the... or rather what kind of profile does the TA bear??
some men or all the males of the species?
the copy, in its nature of delivery, sounds as if men all over Luxemborg (this is adsoftheworld. so i guess the agency means mankind in general ----
Luxemborg to La(w)hore).
gentlemen who do indulge in pleasure with prostitutes, do so with their own means and follow their carnal instincts... which is an absolutely normal activity. men have done it from the very beginning of human civilisation and will continue to do it till "his will be done".
then there are the rest who indulge in pleasurable acivities ranging from highly carnal to strictly platonic.
so will the "creative" team please explain their cool disposition in trying to make a statement which is pretty clear - ALL MEN INDULGE IN SEX WITH PROSTITUTES. MARITAL STATUS NOTWITHSTANDING.
The creative team squeezes a humle request outta' me - Please avoid goofs-up which any intelligent 4yr.old can avoid. Please!!!

they showed me a picture & i laughed
dignity has never been photographed

I am not part of this agency, I live in southamerica.... but to the creep Tirthomitro that put this boring stupid statement above: Get over yourself!!! if you feel like preaching go somewhere or teach in a crappy university, and I hope that doesn´t happen, otherwise you would influence in young minds and this world dont need more retards... God why does everybody thinks they know everything!!!!!

Stop whining about stupid shit, and work!! if you even have one, probably you are just a snotty student trying to look important taking meaningless points of others people´s work.

To the guys who made this... It´s already done in Brazil, but I believe you didn´t knew, that sort of thing happens!!.... even if some MORONS believe that everybody lives watching Ads of the world like them...... the copy could be a little better but keep up the good work!!!

Really smart idea and a really head-on way to make sure people paid attention to the issue. I absolutely love it!

lame idea. how many times will we see stuff in the plastic grocery tray?
and i personally would never pay a prostitute good money if she was nipple-less. i'm paying for the boobs people. and those boobs MUST be accompanied by nipples.

tirthomitro, it's a general message that's directed to ALL men and women who allow people to be sold.

Saying that people have been buying sex since the beginning of time DOES NOT MEAN IT IS OKAY. Would we give up on prosecuting
murderers? Because murder has been going on for thousands of years, we might as well accept it as something that's natural and is not wrong. Is this not your argument?

Many men (and women.. there are an increasing number of male escorts) may believe that they need and deserve regular sex. But this can never override the rights and freedom of another person. The fact is that the vast majority of people in the sex industry are not there by choice. Countless studies show that 75-95% have a background of abuse and are being forced physically, mentally, or financially. The only difference that legalizing prostitution makes is that more women are forced into prostitution and no one can get into trouble for abusing them.

Prostitution advocates rely on the belief that there are some sex workers who enjoy what they do, that they buy from the women who are in a "good situation", and that they are helping these women by giving them an income.

Why this mentality is wrong:

The number of people in the world who want to buy sex OVERWHELMINGLY SURPASSES THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO ARE WILLING TO SELL THEMSELVES. Yet, when someone wants sex they will easily find it. This means there can be NO DOUBT that people are being forced. The reality of physcial and psychological trauma that these women undergo can be summed up in one final point: the sex industry is nothing but mass rape.

I just came across this as a guest, but if anyone wishes to carry on the discussion you can reach me at ashabo@gmail.com

And what of the freedom of a person to SELL sex if they want to? Would you override that? Why is working in a brothel for big money more exploitive than working in a supermarket for peanuts? For many women the hours are flexible, the money is good and it suits them. If it suits buyer and seller, who the heck is the almighty govt of Luxembourg, or a busybody like you to interfere?

You write:

"The number of people in the world who want to buy sex OVERWHELMINGLY SURPASSES THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO ARE WILLING TO SELL THEMSELVES."

Any proof for this assertion? JUST WRITING IN CAPS DOES NOT MAKE AN UNSUPPORTED ASSERTION A FACT! Also, One willing prostitute has more than one client so YOUR ASSERTION IN CAPS is not even a logical argument.

I deplore that anyone is coerced into sex work unwillingly. And support those who work in it willingly.

And what if you pay a woman to appear naked in a self-righteous ad?

Guest's picture

this ad is not supposed to be sexual. she is not renting out her body in this ad. just as it should be okay to have people pose in the nude for artistic purposes, her appearance is suitable for the message conveyed in the ad.

Looks more like a condom ad than it does a prostitution ad. Pretty ineffective. "If you're gonna get down with a prostitute, be sure to put a thin layer of rubber/plastic between you". Plus, in a strange way, the wrapping looks appealing. I would love to come home and find my wife wearing nothing but plastic wrap!!! I think the concept was elementary to start with, and only grew out to being just a bad PSA.

i think how i'd feel about my spouse in this position is very different than how i'd feel about a 17 year old girl who has been trafficked out of her village and beaten and infected with diseases so that an organized crime network could make money off her.

i'm really at a loss as to what is "appealing" here. you clearly aren't thinking about the subject matter, or you won't allow yourself to get it.

It;s about first impressions, and the overpowering nature of visuals versus text. Tobacco companies and Casinos understand this, and put out ads regularly that are in word prevention ads, but visually VERY pro their product.

This ad fails IMO because the visuals have a certain allure to them, and showing naked women is almost always going to ENCOURAGE the sexual curiosity of men. Do you think a porn addict would be detered or invited by this ad CONTAINING a nude girl? This is very non-academic, but this is they way that many people process information. WHy do you thik PETA relies so heavily on nude protests? Because the response is overwhelming positive from the individuals they encounter.

If I encountered this ad in a grocery store I'd be furious. Kinda tasteless placement

Guest's picture

tasteless is the point. the men who are buying sex are community members who have families and good reputations in their local communities. they are definitely standing next to you in the meat aisle at the grocery store. up until now, they've been allowed to live double lives. after leaving the VIP lounges and massage parlours, they return home and they're "dad" again.

placing this ad in a grocery store makes it harder for them to hide. they're coming face to face with it, as they should be.

Really, I thought I was financing someone making a living. Just as i am financing someone making a living when I pay a landscaper, a plumber or a doctor. You know, money for rent, food, their children's education, clothes that sort of thing?

See the recent street protest by Sydney prostitutes with the theme 'There are no bad whores. Just bad laws.'

There sure as fuck are bad scambient ads though.

I like the ad, in first place not as an ad....as a message to convey to all the inhuman b******s and b*****s of this world............including men and women.......i am happy that somebody at some corner of the world to highlight this no matter for what sake they did this.......for awards.......or just that they have to work for the client sake.......no matter.......i am not sure even the one who came up with this idea can ever stand up and say......"see i have not slept with anyone other than the one i loved".........probably he could be one who loves whom ever he slept with........

Talking from the message point of view........the TG also includes the big government of every nation who had made prostitution a mandate......they should be blamed.....but why do they do that......?.....they do cos they know that there is a urge for flesh and sex in any part of the world at any time......

"PLEASURE" is what we need at any time in any form.....stop craving for it.........is there any technology that stops every one craving for more once they have it......so if we really want some change to happen for the one who is suffering there...........then i think the change should happen from with in ourself.......This is my message by the way.........

I don take advertising seriously........

"I DON TAKE ADVERTISING SERIOUSLY"

You seem to take advertising more seriously than you take spelling, punctuation, grammar or intelligibility. But less seriously than you take yourself.
