Lee Brown: Ramadan lantern

The month of Ramadan is celebrated across the Arab world. Hanging lanterns is a tradition all Arabs perform to mark the Holy month. The purpose of this ad was to create an interactive greeting card, one that is unique and stands out. In addition, we wanted to increase traffic on our facebook page.

because most of Ramadan greeting cards are usually ordinary greeting cards nothing special about it .. so we designed this one to be more interactive also to increase traffic on our facebook page.

I like it ) It also have an educational purpose - I'm, not a Muslim, so for me the image used to be the one from news - slaughtering the sheep. This one - lighting a lantern - is a very nice one. Something I can relate. Something most of us can relate.
I like the execution of project.

you mean the final lantern was expected when u saw the die-cut?
i think it just because you're in the field of graphic design .. but it's not expected for someone who know nothing' about die-cuts ..

You won't find Ramadan Lanterns outside Egypt in any Muslim or Arab country... so it's basically an Egyptian tradition that it even predates Islam.

not true, im from the arabian gulf, the lantern is one of ramadhans symbols, doesnt predate islam, not an Egyptian tradition, well done sam, nice to see a more modern aproach to the lantern instead of the, not boring, but redundant islamic or eastern designs, all the best
