Fareshare: Waste not, want not

Join us for our ‘Waste not, Want not’ evening dinner
Here at Fareshare we want to reduce the amount that’s bagged up and binned. Especially when it comes to the 8.3 million tonnes of food that’s sent to landfill each year. It’s a real heartburning issue for us, as most of this food is in date and can be redistributed to organisations that work with the needy or hungry in our local community. So for starters, we’d like to invite you to join us for a Black. Tie evening dinner where you can taste for yourself what many disadvantaged people could be missing out on if all this perfectly good food ended up in the bin.

A letter or email would have produced a lot less waste. Hopefully this doesn't win any trophies that would be additional waste.

Like it!

As goes being more wasteful than an email, I think the ends justify the means. If this DM piece causes say, 100 people to waste less where an email may influence 0, if nothing else it'll be a wash with the materials used to fabricate this idea. Though not a complete wash considering this concept has more lasting power and potential for word of mouth message spreading than a traditional letter or email would.

yeah was thinking sending out tons of packaging kind of goes against the idea of saving material and energy, but again the ends will probably justify the means, hopefully, i assume, maybe, not sure.
