Hemorrhoids are painful. Duh!!
Apart from slapping a logo/packshot, bottom right corner on a fairly creative device,(yes the bum graphic is clever) but no where does it tell the consumer how this product can benefit them. No where

6/10 for concept
2/10 for communication.

It needs a line or something to explain it. As it stands, I wouldn't get the link between the staple and haemorrhoids. I'd just see what looks like a peachy, healthy ass staring me right in the face, and presume the cream has cured whatever problems the bottom's owner might have had.

Have a look on this ad done by McCann Ericson a year ago:

That is a great example of how this idea works. This however, misses the mark.

It's been done before.

Much to subtle for the staple to really be noticed. I would think it's just keeping the ad in rather than part of the ad. Plus apparently it's been done before.

i don't think this message is clear.. besides, the staple in the megazin isn't clearly visible and is 'normal' to have in a page..

Which part of the ad actually said "hemorrhoids"?

Nowhere. The problem is mentioned only in the caption attached to this entry.

All I see is a patch of skin, and a packshot. Only clever advertising people will be able to connect all the dots and understand this ad is saying:

- this is a backside

- the stapler is your ahem... xxxxxxx

- stapler in xxxxxxx means hemorrhoids

- and this packshot is your solution
