great but is it legal to deface currency?
it is as long as you dont manipulate it to show more value than it has or aslong as you leave the currency intact.

i´d say they did it with a handful of bank notes just for award documentation. otherwise they would have got in trouble with law. imagine everyone would use this media and all money gets messed up with advertisements ...

Even if everyone doesn't notice, can you imagine how many hands a banknote passes through in it's lifetime?! Even if it is illegal, it'll only bring more coverage and publicity, which is the role of good ambient work - Job well done!
It is illegal to deface legal bank notes. Rogue advertising.
Totally right, great idea, but a huge scam. Or they are plain stupid.
