i love it. (and the girls too). Maybe already seen somewhere else, - although it's still great.
Another one of those "now why didn't I think of that?" ideas. Simple - yet genius.
This is one of my favorite ambient ad. It is clever, simple, gets straight to the point. The best part about this is that it involves and engages the consumers. Awesome
I like it, but I wouldn't pose myself in the towell.. so, I reckon it depends if the consumer wants to be engaged to it.. and women aren't the target market of Playboy (though there're some who buys it).. Hope I made my point clear.
women may not be the target market in terms of readership, but there are many women who want to be worthy of being on a playboy cover, and more even men willing to ogle. in the end, the men are reached if and when hot women are on the towels when they saw it...
that said, this towel promises hours of photographic fun for guys as well. I can almost see a male _______ (insert fav anamoly here) on the covers...
I think it's clever. Given the nature of the product, advertising probably sometimes proves difficult. Wuth the recent mainstream acceptance of Playboy as a cool brand, this is a smart way of getting the name/image out there.

This is ineffective scam advertising that reaches the smallest number of consumers. I do not understand why the word Genius would be associated with it.
Yes women are nice to look at and I would love to have a towel, (the towel is a gadget) however this campaign isn’t about selling towels is it? It certainly isn’t reaching a massive amount of people lying on a few beaches. Proving something already known, Sex will even sell a poor campaign.

This campaign isn't about selling towels, yes, but it IS about a sexually-oriented magazine; thus the use of sex in the ad is perfectly within context.
Now, if they're going to use sex as a device to sell a totally unrelated product such as a car, a cellular service or even food, then that's what you should be criticizing.
well...actually i like the concept of being a live cover model....
but why don't make it with a girl that "will never be the playboy cover"
be the live model by using this polayboy towel...such as a fat lady or girl...a grandma,
or kinda... ;p
