I'd question that anyone picks up a brochure like that. But a 300% increase in donations is very impressive.

Riiiiight.
I agree. That was my first thought. I don't hold mail with both hands as if to be admiring it.
Also, how many people (even if they did hold it with two hands) would get the image trying to be portrayed?

The image is focused on the neck and expression on the face tells the story. It's hard to miss what they're trying to convey.

Agree completely with Jet Propulsion Lab. In no way does it comes across that she is in any sort of pain or discomfort. They have to really drive the point home with the expression of the model as the idea of holding the DM is way, way too forced!
hey! even i thought massage! n i normally hold any magazine, brochure etc. close 2 the spine with my left hand while my right hand starts flipping the pages! geez...really fails miserably. i would never have got it.

This has to be the worst case of "Scam" ad in the last five years.
I'd bet my left nut this did not actually run or not a real client of the agency for that matter.
How do I know this?
My Uncle works for the Women's Refuge Movement and has never heard of the the agency or Derrick Kim and co.
There should be some sort of backlash against this.
Why can't these people do real ads. Scam, scam, scam.
In order to get a response rate of over 300% is virtually impossible.
