At first, I thought this is from ALMAP BBDO, but wait.....it's from their New York office! Same brand, same great visual and awesome art direction! Love it!

Its easy to take a road that somebody else open, without the previous work froma ALMAP for this brand, BBDO NY would have naver imagined a work like this, its like all the art direction copycats of the work from TBWA PARIS for PS2...
Any way it's amazing work...

I love the campaign, but are agencys and the advertising world running out of ideas? In these days you have to make work of art to win awards? do really expensive photos?

These is beatiful design and art direction, is ART, but where is the IDEA? THE CONCEPT? If its this easy, we all should hire big artist to make art works based on a brand. Is that the way to make good work? Where is the minimalism, the BIG IDEA, the Humor? Its sad...

First you say it's amazing, then you say it's sad.

Anyway, this is a great campaign because it captures and showcases in a very simple way what Havaianas is about.

Minimalism, BIG IDEA, humor or whatever only make sense when they fit within the branding.

Its a great campaign, my mind is clear, but it is also example of the lack of great concepts and the overrating of the art direction in the industry rigth know.

I like great ideas better than great samples of pop art. Does it bother you?

Try to see beyond you nose. Ever heard about the BIG PCITURE? Take a look at it, man.

By the way, I really needed that branding lesson, gonna keep it in my heart!

Hey, as you, I was just speaking my mind. No need to get all personal and sarcastic dude.

I just felt I should make my point about Havaianas, a brand I'm very familiar with, as a brazilian.

Havaianas' sandals, not long ago, were worn only by poor people in Brasil.

AlmapBBDO won the client, and completely changed it's branding.
They took a bum's sandal and turned it into a freakin' fashion icon.

How they did that? Doing a campaing of artsy, "concept-less" (as you sad) ads such as this one.

Try to see beyond one ad. "Ever heard about the BIG PICTURE?"

woah. i din know that Havaianas's origin was from the poor in Brazil..so since i had just to know this truth, what i have to say is, definitely the strategy of the branding is awesome! look at how have it grown now.. look at the ads from Brazil. dman colourful. makes the ad sooooooo engaging ! seriously! im attracted to it! hehe
