It speaks to busy office people with sedentary jobs.
It speaks to people who's self image and health is a priority.
It speaks to them where and when they're in exactly that thought 'zone'.
It says it with a smile.

why not a jagged hole in the wall that a bodybuilder caused because he couldn't be bothered with the door?
perhaps he's got a cockroach phobia, and he saw one.
or perhaps the building was on fire.

i'm pretty sure golds wants to be associated with pumping iron as opposed to cardio and fat burning.
try pushing the strongman as opposed to treadmill.

For me, this is a funny and insightful alternative to the typical bodybuilding gym people Golds usually target.

I reckon they have established those customers pretty solidly already.

Perhaps they are trying to broaden their customer range.

doesn't work for me. people rarely use the exit door, so to put the sticker there is not so efficient, that's just my humble opinion.

I'm not feeling this one. If you think about it, you don't have to be in great shape to move pretty quickly DOWN a fire stairway. Add to that the fact that in most cases, once you're in it, you have plenty of time to get down to the ground level. The other thing is that I would bet most people would completely ignore this ad and walk right by, because it looks so similar to what SHOULD be in that location.
