Egg Baby / iwanttobeababy.com: Hollywood Babies

Blue pacifier stickers are placed on advertisements all over the city
without explanation to generate buzz. 5,000 real blue pacifiers (bottom
right) are then placed in various locations around the city, leading to the
micro site iwanttobeababy.com.

Couldn't there be some sort of issue like infringement on another advertiser's work?

Yes. They will be sued. Count on it.

This is a VERY dumb campaign, on may levels.

To answer people's questions - No, you cannot sue the opposing advertising agency for their placement because they aren't defacing the actual piece. If you notice, the original is behind a glass frame, thus, you are placing your "ambient" media on the outside of an Ad shell.

Ahhh, the beauty of ambient media.

I think these work only for the fact that if you see 5,000 of these things placed in areas where they shouldn't be, you're gonna look. Good PR too.

I'm here doing this, but feel I should be there doing that. But to do that, I have to be doing this. Does this make sense or do I have to explain that?

Where'd you get that insane idea? There is a company that OWNS and LEASES that space for a PROFIT to another company. They both have every right to protect it, and every reason to.

You are out of your tree if you think that if YOU paid good money to advertise your product and some idiot came by and put a f'n pacifier on it, you wouldn't do everything you could to recoup your lost ad dollars?

Of course you would. Don't be an idiot.
