oh no... this is really bad^^

what's the idea behind this? "smoking is bad for you???" C'mon...

Chough's picture 147 pencils

I'd say it was "not smoking is good for you" and appropriate to the target market. Not gonna win any awards tho :)

jochen's picture 404 pencils

how many smokers (T.G.) would consider reading a pamphlet that says "no smoking" on the cover...!
my estimate is about 1.3%? ;)

this totally misses the target group!

niranjanhg's picture 211 pencils

This is boring.

I am a student.

jazarah's picture 1270 pencils

I guess it will give more reasons for smokers to smoke more :)

fersvax's picture 1224 pencils

Looks like a Hallmark card. Nothing new here.

I feel it’s really effective. There is some positive massage so I appreciate and I love it.

i liked the idea of the card opening and then the guy without the cigerrete in the inside part. good idea. Good Art. Good Communication.

biabitch's picture 300 pencils

but if you were a smoker would you get a card that read "no smoking"?

Mumbai cha porga's picture 22 pencils

Common! Will you give someone a card without an envelope?

vivekvidrohi's picture 2 pencils

one can't be so extremely negative for a positive effort. Good effort to work on a different media n a different aspect.

Mumbai cha porga's picture 22 pencils

According to me, this is a kick ass work.
Good medium to reach directly to the target audience.
Worth winning some metal.

Keep it up!

pankajadsoftheworld's picture 424 pencils

Not bad for Target but greeting card could be so innovative, for eg. open card where in cigarette is goin away and family is cuming close to smoker...
at least we can innovative than regular greeting card makers.

Maybe it works really well in India cos' almost all the positive comments are coming from certain nicks.

jochen's picture 404 pencils

@whitespace: my thoughts exactly.
or someone's defending his work. can't blame 'em for trying ;)

First of all, I think this particular attempt at dissuading smokers doesn't dissuade me one bit. All right, I know smoking is bad for me and that NOT smoking is good. So? Tell me something else, man. Where is the story, the drama? This piece is just trying to be smart. I guess somebody in the creative team at FCB+Ulka must have gone like - "Hey, I have got an idea. Let's do an anti-smoking campaign through greeting cards! How cool is that! Nobody must have ever thought of it!"

Mr. X, there is good reason why nobody has EVER thought of using a greeting card for an anti-smoking campaign.

My take on this piece - sorry, I ain't takin' it. And by George, I smoke!

Next, please.

I know Mr. Y, its quite natural to write this kind of comments for an ex-agency's work after leaving it. And there are so many people like you around.

It makes no difference!

bravoo man bravooooooo... its better to do than speck...
Be great in act, as you have been in thought .

Mr. Mumbai cha porga,

If your comment is directed towards me, this is what I have to say.

I wonder what makes you say it is an ex-agency. If that is true, then I am sure you work or have worked in that agency. Which then has me doubt your identity. I will, in such a scenario, then be forced to believe that the person this Ad (if that is what you call it) is credited to has asked you to help his cause here in this forum or you have, out of an act of selflessness and stupid bravado, acted in defense of your friend. Of course, that is a trait I do admire.

Mr. Nocopyads,

Of course, it is better to do than speculate. As long as you are doing better than the piece in discussion. Thank you.

nocopyads's picture 6 pencils

lets do one think
Put your one great work on the site.
Show your maturity in advertising??????????????????????

Both Sides of the Brain's picture 173 pencils

Mr. Nocopyads,

Let's do one thing...not think...

If it is let's do, it means you and I. Then, why should I do the work? And as far as maturity in advertising is concerned, let me tell you this. I certainly don't need to prove anything to a dimwit like you. After all, you are the one who likes this piece, not me.

And then, the best certainly don't go about proving themselves :)

nocopyads's picture 6 pencils

You might be a good proof reader…thanx for correcting the spelling.

Both Sides of the Brain's picture 173 pencils

I'm a good proof reader and I know that. I certainly don't need you telling me that.

loquacious_simian's picture 79 pencils

No, no, no. Boring. Annoying. And clearly designed by people who have no idea how to get into the head of a smoker.

Good stuff! And screw all the guys who think otherwise!!!! Opinions are like assholes every has one!

Well said!

nice idea and everything, but the execution falls a bit flat...looks a bit childish even. problem is, it will piss off the very people they're trying to target. any smoker, even cancer- affected ones, would be so pissed looking at it that they'd wanna go for a smoke to calm down...happens to me all the time when i get any of this "no smoking" shit...

(To the person who has commented above) hope you die of lung cancer...
