Who would wanna work for someone who don't appreciate good work, i even believe that you have problem looking for one. Get a life dude.

Guest's picture

what if its the sky is cloudy that day?

thirty6chambers's picture 1468 pencils

the streaks are empty, not actually painted.

Guest's picture

but the paintroll is blue

Jet Propulsion Lab's picture 10602 pencils

Yeah, the roller brush IS blue. I'm trying to visualize the picture with a slightly darker (or lighter) sky, or like someone said, towards the sunset where it's dark orange color, that big blue roller will still be clearly visible, which I imagine will hurt the message quite a bit. It's a pretty risky proposition to have to entirely rely on that particular day's weather for the ad to work perfectly...

That said, the overall effect of the billboard probably more than makes up for any unintentional contradiction in the message. I think people will like it and get a little chuclke out of it and even spread the word, which is a compliment for any good piece of work.

The idea here is not anything new as some of you might already know. The incorporation of natural surroundings and/or "background" color to make a point for a billboard advertising has been done quite often. I think it's the way how this board is "diecut", that makes it FEEL fresh. The concept here is just another iteration of already-been-tested-and-tried one elsewhere.

All in all, I like it, minor flaws and all... I give it 7/10.

G.J.'s picture 149 pencils

great point. what a waste ain't it...

No matter wat you do,
33% of the people will love it,
33% of the people will hate it,
And the rest won't give a fcuk.

Guest's picture

Suggestion: There are materials in existence that can be used to replace the roller brush tube with something that is a bit transparent and glossy that diffuse light. (First thought is frosted acrylic? There are others... ) That way, it adapts to the color behind it but doesn't completely match it, achieving the paint-on-brush effect.

creative. shmeative.

Guest's picture

It is not scam for your kind information.

Guest's picture

Then what is it? It's not a real billboard, as the guy on it is real an not a mannequin. He isn't gonna hang all day long for a month. So its been photoshopped and the real billboard doesn't exist. So then, what else should make it a scam?

Great.. Best outdoor of the year

Guest's picture

it's really great. i've a little concern about it. How this will communicate at sunset, and sunrise as the roller brush is in the blue colour?

Guest's picture

I don´t know if the board is supposed to be colored blue? Or if it´s supposed to be cut so that you always see the actual color of the sky? If it´s the first way it´s not that good.

Guest's picture

Nice idea, but the billboard seems to have no depth whatsoever. It's paper thin. Unless it's made of aircraft steel, those spikes would be flapping around in the most minor breeze.
I like to think it's an ad that really ran and has been retouched to make it look better for the sake of awards.
That non-mannequin guy though...

NastyJester's picture 746 pencils

I'm not that bothered if it ran or not actually... and the guy could be dead and nailed into place for all I care. As an idea it really stands out, it's clever, it makes me smile, and it has the perfect three-word strapline to bring it all together. Superb.

Guest's picture

WHO THE FUCK CARES ABOUT YOUR SMILE NASTY-ASSHOLE?

NastyJester's picture 746 pencils

Ah, the same guest commenter from the DHL ad, I presume? How are you? You really took that comment about being an annoying, illiterate, client-comment-making prick to heart, didn't ya? So much so that you pretended to be a whole plethora of guest commenters in your efforts to smite me. That's so cute it makes me wanna ruffle your hair, you little scamp. Come here...

Guest's picture

this can be real. O&M Philippines created a billboard for Ponds, and used a real person-- but replaced it with a dummy after documentation.

amin24e's picture 127 pencils

Great idea
see it again ad more at | http://felket.blogspot.com/

kims's picture 4 pencils

the concept will be more better if the painting surface is metal, because enamel paints never used on plastic surface.

Guest's picture

Nice...
But what happens in the early morning, late evening and night?

slowrider's picture 514 pencils

in the early morning there will be the sunset - in the late evening there will be the sundown and in the night there will be a lot of stars - thats sooo easy in real life

one should not take life so seriously - as one will not come out of it alive.

Guest's picture

wow :)))

Guest's picture

Reminds me a lot of the old Weather Channel billboards, but it's still pretty cool.

monicamexico's picture 832 pencils

Interesting idea but it wouldn't match the sky 99% of the time, thereby ruining your brand credibility.

Wordnerd's picture 5288 pencils

that's not paint, it IS the sky.

Guest's picture

I think she meant the blue paint roller, chief!
We know how much you LUUUUV this ad. But let's settle down, okay?

Wordnerd's picture 5288 pencils

actually, i just think this ad is ok. for a one time installation it's working (maybe - the pointed parts look suspicous). but talking about the idea, i don't think people even see or care about the paint roller.

but yeah, let's settle this

Guest's picture

Poor billboard guy!, give him some vacations,

one more ad with the billboard guy and it will become a category

eldario's picture 14 pencils

awsome!

Guest's picture

This is good even though the man is real so I cant believe this ran with some dude hanging there forever. Also has anyone notice that JWT india tends to flood any ad they post with fake comments? That's padding the stats, I'm on too you...

with all due respect to JWT, but this was done before in a better way

DEAR NASTY JESTER LOSER,
how would you know if I am the guest from the DHL or from the Kit Kat sudoku or even shani G? you have insulted so many people during your short (very short just like your cock)short period here on this site! if you say I'm all those comenters (of which i'm one.HONESTLY - I PROMISE YOU) I wish I really could be all those people who hate you but cant bother registering as shani G and the rest. That comment itself shows how dumb you are and you are clearly one of those people who is hated by all, i feel sorry for you.I really do. you insult people for no reason and its only fair others hit you back. I bet you are hated even by your own family and friends (no point talking about ur office...)get a life loser. you clearly dont have one!as for ruffling my hair (yea since you badly wanna do it, u may ruffle the hair below, if u have the brains to know where that is)

NastyJester's picture 746 pencils

I would know that you're the same guest commenter because you've just referenced all of the ads that I (and, subsequently, you) have commented upon. Not only this, but you've also copied and pasted the same (I mean word for word) comment onto two separate discussion boards. Why don't you make another client comment on this ad instead of wasting your time with long-winded, dick-based insults? Perhaps the sky is too blue in this advert? Or maybe you'd rather the man doing the painting be shorter in stature? Bigger logo? I dunno, you tell me, you're the client.

Guest's picture

ya i'm the client and ur the loser-hated by all. you right I did cut and paste and next time i'm gonna cut your 12inch dick and paste it on your mama's pussy. she shouldnt give birth to dumb losers like you.
