Are u having a message on the other side of the switch, when it's on.
If yes, then it works because you are encouraging people to save electricity,
and when they turn off the switch the message gets across clear.

Maybe the art direction should go:
One side of the switch says "ON" and the other side, instead of "OFF", the piggy bank.
It's a weak visual to start with, because the switch is too obvious and cliche, but you can at least make the art direction work. Good luck on the next one, bro.
