Position: Director, Online Marketing
Location: Beijing, China

Specific Responsibilities:
• Gathering and analyzing data about consumer related online travel activities in China.
• Leading the development and subsequent implementation of online marketing strategies for this company online business, with primary focus on paid search engine marketing (SEM), and secondary focus on graphical display advertising, organic search engine optimization (SEO), and E-mail Marketing (CRM).
• Managing a team of 3-5 individual contributors responsible for executing campaign tactics.
• Creating associated forecasts and budgets, and monitoring performance against them.
• Building business cases to support product development initiatives that will drive forward the growth of these businesses.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with strategic distribution partners.
• Facilitating knowledge transfer of online marketing best practices to China from other management teams within the world-wide Expedia organization.

Important skills and abilities include:
• Demonstrated experience in the field of online marketing, with experience managing a marketing budget and evaluating a business’ ongoing financial performance.
• Outstanding analytical and strategic thinking skills, including demonstrated general problem-solving skills and an intense curiosity to identify emerging business trends and ensuing needs.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present business and technical issues, ideas, and recommendations clearly in verbal, written and presentation formats.
• Energy, creativity, and passion to develop the opportunity for this company to use technology to transform the way travel is planned and purchased in China.
• Solid project management skills, including the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, surface and resolve issues successfully, communicate scrupulously, and to meet deadlines consistently.
• Effective people management skills, including the ability to lead, inspire, and develop team members.

Education/experience requirements:
• BS or BA from a 4-year university.
• 3-5 years experience in a marketing or online marketing role.
• Bi-lingual: ability to speak and read both Mandarin and English.
• Previous experience as a manager of a small team of individual contributors.
• Proficiency in MS Office (in particular Excel).
