why you wanna go there ??
The man who stops advertising to save money is like the man who stops the clock to save time
Because its Tax Free you moron, the standard of living is first class, year round sunshine and if you read up a bit more you would realise Dubai's economy is booming.
Idiot
Booming? Famous last words huh ...
Your atrocious spelling makes YOU the idiot. But, you probably already REALISE that.
America is the greatest country on God's green Earth.
America is a Continent, not a country.
AMERICA IS A CONTINENT, not a Country
Exactly! Why go there when there are jobs right here. I am offering a Graphic Designer opening. This is a real job, full time and permanent with a global company that is growing. We are seeking 4 years of Designer experience with strong work experience in web design. We are Clickinks.com and are located in Lake Mary, Florida (in Orlando). Please forward your resume, along with your web links to me at teresa.fagan@clickinks.com for immediately consideration. We are not currently offering a relocation package but may consider for the right candidate. I am eager to fill this opening before the end of this month.
Why not?
I want to work outside of the US. Since I'm a Creative, I need a place where business is done in a language I'm fluent in. I've visited Dubai and liked it.
Thanks for the sites. I was really hoping for an actual contact (either a headhunter or agency), though. Know of any?
South Africa oftens sends people up there... you could try TERSHA at THE CONNECTION, +27 11 234 4036. It's an advertising recruitment agency.
Thanks... got it. I'll let you know how it goes (if interested)

What language is that English or Arabic?? Thanks
English. I'm ok in Spanish, too, but not fluent.
Arabic... not so much. I'd love to learn, but I've been told that English is the language of advertising in Dubai.
English is the language of advertising in DUbai because there are only very few Arabic creative people. Concepts are usually created and layedout in English and then Arabised, that's where it loses some or maybe more of it's creativeness. Add to that, you have to have Arabic in every outdoor, or the municipality will not approve it. When you have a dual language Ad Ara bic should be first, and in most cases the concept is in English, this is where the loss of messages comes from. In this part of the world, people should think the other way round, concepts should be thought and put in Arabic and then done in English, because in so many cases Ideas done in a cultural background different from the one common in Dubai, in other cases concepts done in English, and it does not work in Arabic. that all cause because Arabs are not into this business as they should be, in a metropolitan city like Dubai, both mentalities (weestren and eastren) should think togather to come with brilliant ideas.

I am looking to do the same: move from NY to Dubai and I don't know where to start.
The difference is, I am looking for branding strategy work, not advertising and not design.
Anyone knows the good branding agencies in Dubai?
How is Landor over there? good?
looking to relocate to dubai as well.
preferably for a job within the fashion
industry. how are the salaries? cost of living, etc?
does anyone know of a specific contact?
my experience lies in brand management and marketing
for fashion brands.
Yeah, what's the process in moving to Dubai? As a Creative Director, is it all about knowing someone more than having a job opening in Dubai? Or is it pretty much procedural, where you apply for a job like anyone else?
I am looking to relocate to Dubai, I am an assistant in equity research at a large financial firm in ny. I only have a few years of work experience. Does anyone know the names of a few headhunters that would be able to help me? Thanks.

Dubai is an interesting place to work in. I was born there and lived there all my life but there seems to be an impression that is similar among many of you. Do you even know if you'll settle in? Its a great thing people are interested. Its just that there may be things you need to consider. I mean seriously NY to Dubai..I'll understand if you really had a clear insight.
To all people seeking employment in Dubai, just make sure you do your calculation as to accomodation cost. Employers are giving packages and when you go to find an apartment here comes the surprise, just an FYI.
Does anyone know of any high end creative retouching studios in Dubai?

U.A.E is booming right now. Job offers are way more interesting then the ones in the states. Tax free, offers include accommodations and transportation. My field is in the hospitality industry. Does anyone knows a headhunter company or a recruiting agency that specializes in hospitality. Thank you
Hey dude.. DO NOT! COME HERE..
I'm in Dubai since childhood. Here, its all discrimination. There is lots & lots of discrimination between ARABS-ASIANS-NATIONALS.
Salaries are like peanuts, Legal issues regarding visas/employment etc.
I had many friends, 90% have gone to Canada or US. Atleast after staying for there 10 years you will get the nationality but here forget it.
SO MY ADVICE TO YOU, THINK 100 TIMES B4 U LAND HERE..

Just curious as to why so negative about Dubai. I have travelled and worked in a lot of countries and Dubai is an architectural wonder when speaking of my profession which is construction.
Thanks
Rick
Hello,
I'm a headhunter, CONEXIA, a Construction Executive Search.
If you are interested in a job in Dubai, you can always send us your resume through our website www.conexia.com.
By the way, in November I am going on a business trip to Dubai, so afterwards I will again have much more information for you.
Best regards,
Pascale.
Why do you search for construction executives on adsoftheworld, that is a mystery...
Pascale, is your website English friendly?
Thanks
Rick
Over 30 years in construction, I have travelled and work abroad for 9 years.
Hi,
Would anyone know any aerospace/aeronautics headhunter in Dubai? I have been living there for some time now...
Being granted the nationality of a country should not be a reason why you move there. The right to work for your talents should prevail versus the social advantages sought when going abroad.
Expat packages provided here are large enough to make it up for an unnecessary piece of paper prooving of a nationality you were not born with and entitling to social rights...and duties too.
Hello all,
I am a bank executive from Canada, and I am looking to relocate to Dubai. Do you know of any head hunting firms that specializes in financial services and banking ?

Hi,
I am a technical communicator (technical writer) from Pakistan. I have just invested in real estate in Dubai. Now, I would like to get a job with a multinational software concern out there. I have over 8 years of hands-on working experience with local as well as Fortune 500 companies operating out of Pakistan. I am going to be there mid Nov and was wondering If I can meet up with head hunters in Dubai - just to get my resume circulating in the Dubai market.
thoughts anyone?
Looking forward to hearing from anyone with useful information.
Thanks a bunch.

Hi,
Me and My husband wants to move to dubai. Is there any headhunters recruting IT people.
To the person who said its tax-free you need to get a clue. Dubai is tax-free but as an American you still have to pay federal income taxes on any income you earn overseas. If you don't, trust me you'll be audited and have to pay tons more in interest and penalties as well as likely be convicted of tax evasion.
i am from canada visitong UAE for exploring jobs in banking. Have very rich experience in banking--Any headhunter interested pleas let me know.

Thanks for the comments everyone (most everyone). I actually haven't been back to this site for over a year. If this is interesting to anyone... here's an update:
I spoke to a headhunter in Dubai. I was told that he was the best creative recruiter there. He was cordial, but not overly interested in helping unless I flew out there to meet him (which is completely understandable.)
On my own I managed to get a phone interview for an ECD position at TWA, but, again, nothing came of it. I guess there's enough talent -- or at least enough experience -- in the UAE that a New York advertising background isn't enough of a commodity to warrant plane tickets and hotel just for an interview.
Now I'm setting my sites on Asia... It's been easier, but everything has been through networking and personal introductions. Not recruiters or cold calls. Things are starting to move, here, though. Fingers crossed.
However... with this economic tsunami (econami?), I'm also moving from advertising into brand building and creative strategy. I've spent the last 2 years working on developing new skill sets to that end.
And Everartz, if you tune in again, you're right. Ads from the US are way worse than Europe. But what can you do when even if the agency has talent, most of our clients want focus groups to make decisions? Puppies & Babies, Demos & Calls-to-action. Unfortunately, my career hasn't taken me to any of the 10 or 15 shops that get hired to do really inspired creative. And, at my age and seniority, I can get good positions, but not those. I never managed to build a portfolio of kick-ass, produced work. It's the big regret of my career.
Best.
J
Guys, I tried to contact some headhunters (5-6 companies) there by email, with the online portfolio full of awards, I did not receive a single answer... I figured out they do not really need talents down there... Anyone has a different experience?
Oh dear justpassingby is a wee bit impatient with fools like me who have came across this site through a search...please forgive us mere IT mortals who are doing our best to network and find headhunters...as we all know headhunters know headhunters and work on retention fees...you just never know one of us may find our perfect position thru our foolish efforts.
Guys dont de tricked by the name DUBAI, wait until you come and then you will start paying hidden tax..... honestly you know nothing about dubai....
i have an interest in dubai too! just been reading through the comments is there really alot of discriminations between asians and arabs? im indian and that threw me back a little.. im studying creative advertising in london and dubai is a dream away for me but still contemplating whether to relocate there...?
he guys thats was really helping gat a few hints about dubai, well i wana move to dubai too, i iam computer networks(wired,Wireless) expert and servers simply i would say iam in IT, well i need some head hunters in IT or some one to link me up over there...reach at alexdixons@gmail.com

the thing about dubai is their r very good on making a reputation but to be honest to me so far it looks so fake.
