Nice illustration and copy. Will work.
Really good stuff, except that layout needs to be done again. Characters are good though. And I am not a huge fan of the 'before after' technique, it's been raped by everyone in advertising at least once in their lifetime. Only the fat doll will do. Good job done!
solid idea! like it
play to lose is a realllly nice line
overall it's good
- Here I should have written something smarter -
"PLay to Lose" is the SHIT. Great line.
The art direction hurts my brain. The characters would stand just as strongly is they were maybe 70% of size.
Princess Toadstool is too different. All the other characters show the effects just as strongly without a cheezy "before/after" shot. I think Toadstool would work well if she was i that Jenny Craig pose where she's wearing her old jeans and holding out the waist :)
Regardless, I like the idea :)
There's just one problem...lots of studies have been done that show that there is no connection between playing Wii and getting fit. But whatevs :) It's the idea :)

i actually don't mind the before/after, since it's been done to death in advertising for weight loss, but this is a twist on that old generic concept to me since i've never seen it done on video game characters.
i really like this idea and concept. good job.
Thanks for the comments everyone.
For the before/after: I know it's obviously been done to death, but thats kinda the point to parody those cheesy weight loss ads. But if it doesn't come across maybe I should just stick with the chunky princess.
I am in my last quarter of portfolio school as a copywriter, however I have been art directing all my stuff as well. I can see now that the characters are probably way to large. I did this in illustrator/indesign so the elements can easily be changed around. Any other layout suggestions? or copy suggestions for that matter? Thanks again!
Besides being done to death, Before/After doesn't work because it's a different voice than the other 2, if that makes sense. Both the others are showing a happy character whose overjoyed with the results. The "before" is well implied, and gives your reader a little credit. Plus, adding copy like "before/after" cheapens it a bit. I know you;re going through to be a copywriter, but some of the best-written ads in history didn't have a single word on the page :)
The idea is strong. Make it a litle prettier and you;ve got a winner.
I'm stealing it ;)

Ninty ads are much simpler and straighforward. They're all about clear and sharp lines: "Wii want to play", "touch is good". I love the "play to lose line" but I reckon the art needs to go a few steps forward.
Keep up the good work, or I might just use it. (n_n)
