What? He thought he was reaching for a gun, realized he wasn't but shot him anyway? Because he's smoking? By the story board I'd think that he got shot the moment he took out the cig by mistake. Not much better but slightly more believable.
Sorry, the point is vague and weak at best.
On the bright side, those drawings are cute as hell.

STOP USING GUNS FOR ANTI-SMOKING MESSAGES. It's very immature and tiring. If I ever saw a antismoking/gun ad in someones book I wouldn't recommend hiring them on that basis even though their other stuff is brilliant.
