so is the exaggeration of kids watching
a cartoon on a printer too forced?

or should i include other elements such as
why are they watching it (broken tv besides,...)?

Exaggeration is not the matter, but execution must be better. Comparison is a good way so including other elements which compare between tv & printer may be effective.

And why r u comparing a printer with a tv? because printer & TV both are different media, so idea not apply here. You may compare printer quality with any realistic thing that print looks more real then real thing.

i know but the normal comparisment (like a bird nesting on a printed tree) of ''real'' are so overused, i wanted to be somehow funny, and maybe there should be a twist with the kids parents or older borther, so he can watch tv.

I get the idea. It's not bad at all, but it's killed by the execution.
It's the old-fashioned animation... when you fan through the pages real fast, you see an animated image right?
Fantastic idea, it really emphasizes the "fastness" of the printer. But you need to show more printed sequences. Know what I mean?
And no need to show the kids or the family (it's lame).
Just show the printer+paper, and try to come up with a nice animated story.
I think it'd work better as a TVC. Try to do it in Flash.

PS: Some photoshop courses would be useful.;)

thanks a lot, i actually don't concentrate on my showing skills, but do you think that i should get some knowledge about it, since i'll probably work as a copywriter and it's art director's job to make an appealing visual?

It's not expected of you, as a copywriter,
because you'll be working in tandem with an art director.
However, if you are able to use photoshop or indesign, it's a bonus.
You could then offer graphic services as well.

you're mistaken.

a creative needs managerial skills. either you are able to execute yourself or you are able to figure out how to get this done. a decent macced-up execution is something I expect from every creative.

besides: five creatives compete for the same job. their ideas got their books into the final round. four have black and white comps, one has decently executed computer comps. which one would you like to be?

the ad: kill it. printers are not used as tv's. done, out.

I've had this idea for a tv spot, but this is far too much of an exaggeration and it is totally lost in the execution.
