You must have pretty low standards to call this 'brilliant'.
Who gives a rat's what an Indian animator, psychology student and an actor say.
Sea levels are rising, apparently, fresh water is becoming less abundant.
Think people. You can't drink sea water.
This is idiotic.
I completely agree to you, people cannot drink sea water. But what I have tried is a sarcastic way for creating awareness. Once a lay man reads it, he will atleast think about Global Warming. And that’s what I want. Just the awareness and the thinking. Anyways thank you very much.
adsanads + shatru + vicky + sushantd = Indians
Gotta love Indian nationalism :)
I meant no harm adsandads.
But the poster's better off keeping this ad out of his book.
I'm sure no CD wants to see global warming ads in a student book, especially not bad ones.
For your kindest info i am not a student. and this forum is to discuss advertising, ads and ideas. so comment on the ad and not on the forum. thank you. and by the way did you like the ad or not.
maybe we are missing smthing citizen
are these people famous for giving the most stupid quotes in the world or something?
can any of you adsanads + shatru + vicky + sushantd explain it to me?
well THAT part i understand
because all the indians on this forum seem to like your ad
and citizen13 doesn't
neither do i
but i ask to explain the ad because i think we might be missing smthing
because we ain't indian
so, what's up with the ad?
who are the people giving quotes?
Okay now I get it, these people who are giving quotes are real people and the thought is really simple if you read the whole ad. And don’t you think so the people who are saying this are not important but what they are saying is important. So even if the people are imaginary it doesn’t matter.
You are not missing anything, may be you are focusing on the people who have said it.
I looked around a bit to learn about that global warming-thing like you suggested. And boy, that global warming sounds really uncool. people should make some ads for this to make people aware.
andandads keep cool, see dear Pienter , global warming is increase in temperature which leads to increase in water level. So no need to save water as there is going to be lot of water around. It’s the sarcasm approach. and i am sure you know this... but just incase you din't know.
well thank you for finally explaining. As you can see from my other post, sarcasm is a well-known concept to me, but in this ad this doesn't work. I don't see how you could call this brilliant to be honest. It's not even average imho
to be clear: i know what global warming is, i didn't knew what 'that' was. It's an ad apparently.
so it's just random people saying that they don't care about saving water and then the ad says they should think.
because global warming is raising the water level.
You guessed it right, we know each other but we have met once at a conference in Bombay, India. I referred ‘we’ because the focus was on Indians. Thank you, and i feel you are not here to discuss ads but do everything else except that.
i appreciate your comment Pienter, if its not working i will think oo the concept again. thank you. you are right Olafski001 , its increasing the level and these quotes are eye catchy it is just to make people look at the ad and then think about Global warming. i think i have made myself clear. thank you. but i still need your reaction.
Now that i am sure that i understand the ad i can say it:
IT IS BAD! (sorry i know that hurts)
what you explain here is right: it just makes people look at the ad. In that case:
Your quotes are not strong enough. NOT AT ALL.
The names and jobs are confusing, people start looking for a link between that and the quote
You do not give a clever insight on the matter that will make people think about it.
back to the drawing board, sushantd
if you really want to do a global warming ad, rethink the whole strategy.
Thank you very much for your comments, I appreciate. But this ad was selected for an environment exhibition recently held in Pune - India. It was open for all so may be what you say is the creative part of the ad which has gone wrong but for people in India (Pune) they loved it. Seriously. Thank you anyway. I will make it a point to re think and make it better.
What a piece of meaningless, non inspiring crap. I can't believe you guys are debating this rubbish. I wouldn't put this in a first year student porti, let alone a sell confessed 'non student'.
to put it simply. this ad is insane.
and yes this is coming from an Indian. a well educated and bit learned too( if u grant me to be so)...so i think u can judge that i know atleast a little bit about global warming.
still....
this ad is not working. NOT AT ALL.
and plz u dear "band of brothers" (adsanads + shatru + vicky + sushantd ) its very clear..you know each other a lot well....stop saving each others ass here. its not gonna help.
a bad ad is a bad ad.
i don't care you believe it or not.
I don’t think I should prove it that it was there in an exhibition and also that we know each other or not. I am here to have reactions, comments and suggestions on the ad. So thank you. For some people it does not work and some it does. So please to let’s be to here discuss ads and not get personal. Thank you.

For all the people who aren't biased, this does not work. That should be enough for you. If not, hey it's your portfolio.
As I said to another poster here, if you want to put this in your book go for it. Less competition for me.

Jebus, looks like the best way to get your bad ad noticed is to start a race war :)
I'm with Olafski (and the majority). Bad ad, bad execution, bad idea...if those are real quotes from those people, then this could much more easily be an ad concerning career suicide, but they're obviously fabricated, making this whole thing even worse.

Concept is brilliant. But make sure that font size should be of same size
There's no SHOULD in advertising!

gud one..like it..!!! :)
Save our forum from global warming ads.
Liked it buddy, good work.
and for Citizen13, after reading your comment, i feel
"thats why you are Citizen13 and not Citizen01"
adsanads + shatru + vicky + sushantd = Indians

haha:-)
- Here I should have written something smarter -
i also don't know why he has written about Indians. actually i also want to know....can you pls explain Citizen13. we all would like to know.
u don't get it. we want to know the meaning of the ad.
well THAT part i understand
because all the indians on this forum seem to like your ad

Adsanads, shatru, vicky or sushantd, please explain why this is brilliant otherwise this really looks like Indians putting up for Indians.
Okay now I get it, these people who are giving quotes are real people and the thought is really simple if you read the whole ad. And don’t you think so the people who are saying this are not important but what they are saying is important. So even if the people are imaginary it doesn’t matter.

Guys its not about Indians, it’s about the approach, the different approach to the subject. That’s what I feel. And I think the approach is great.
you still haven't explained the ad....
i don't think so we should explain. its straight real straight. if don't know what Global warming is pls read on the topic and then see the ad.
I looked around a bit to learn about that global warming-thing like you suggested. And boy, that global warming sounds really uncool. people should make some ads for this to make people aware.
i don't have time for that, i'm making some campaigns on eye donation right now...
:-)
perhaps some people here donated their eyes and can't see the clue anymore :-)
andandads keep cool, see dear Pienter , global warming is increase in temperature which leads to increase in water level. So no need to save water as there is going to be lot of water around. It’s the sarcasm approach. and i am sure you know this... but just incase you din't know.

You can't drink sea water. You are confusing two different issues.
so it's just random people saying that they don't care about saving water and then the ad says they should think.
because global warming is raising the water level.
Am i getting this complete and correct?

I need people to discuss ads, please guys lets not change our focus, lets discuss the ad. Thank you.
no. thank you.
i get your thought, but now you should rethink it, and maybe there's something in it. But like this it's not working imho
i appreciate your comment Pienter, if its not working i will think oo the concept again. thank you. you are right Olafski001 , its increasing the level and these quotes are eye catchy it is just to make people look at the ad and then think about Global warming. i think i have made myself clear. thank you. but i still need your reaction.

Me no likey. Boring. Feels like you've used The Economist's sarcastic approach (http://ettf.net/wp-content/uploads/2007/01/the_economist_trainee.jpg) and re-done it badly.

thank you very much viky.
Saving water and Global warming are two different issues... people will be confused. The art direction is poor.
Creativity is an inner monster.

Sorry but not too keen.
Quotes are weird, copy needs checking and it's a little dull.

save our planet from Global Warming? okay.
but think??...dont think!!! ACT!
about the thinking part, that's what you should have done before finalizing on this idea, seriously.
PS: the deepa mehta 'WATER' is a bad pun, and dont tell me a film actor actually told you that.
please save your portfolio from this ad. think.
