i thought that in cars ads the car should take the most of the space coz people r buying the car not the city or the car's lights!!!

the analogy with the comet is because of the speed the car can achieve, not with the lights of the car

Looks like lights to me :P

Non-turbo cars achieve very nearly the same speed as the turbo equivalent, except turbo cars accelerate there quicker.

But on another note, there are many turbo cars (i.e Mitsubishi Evo)that any turbo ad will work for.

Find something unique to make the proposition about.

i think it's a cool visual. I don't think you necessarily have to find something unique for every product when there's a sea of products that are all similar to yours. Also, the main feature of this car is the speed and that's exactly what you should be selling. Perhaps you can come up with a better insight, dive in a bit deeper, but don't focus on something absurd just to differentiate the product.

art direction: the visual and your product shot -the car- are competing. cut one. there is no reason to make me go all the way to the other side of the picture for the logo either. your layout suggests you need to take some basic art direction classes. do this, it's crucial. you do not have visual communication mastered.

conept: meh, kinda, yeah. perhaps if you had a hint of earth at the bottom the ad would be stronger. it's a one-off, it doesn't shock me with its brilliance or novelty, it's just ... meh.

I gather from your post you did not expand the ad, the car is already on land... Criticizing an ad without even looking at it is not very modest. Showing a little bit of earth would make absolutely no sense...

Overall I don't mind, its different I don't understand the 3 different logos in each corner and their necessity. But the idea works for what it is. Like everyone else said the first thing i thought of was headlights... You could always flip the idea for some really powerful headlights! haha

keep it up my friend

I did expand the ad, I did not care to comment on existing retouching work in a comp. what I did comment on was how I would change it in order to pull it off.

I think it works pretty well. The idea of fast car -> comet might not be very very original, but here is more about the visual. The arty version of the sky is groovy and catches the eye.

To the guy who said the car should be big because that's what you are selling. I don't want to polemize but how about the Wolkswagen "Think Small" by Bernbach: http://adage.com/century/graphics/campaign_vw.jpg. It was a great one and the car was actually small.

Cheers

thanks guys for the comments, I really appreciate them....and...yea...if someone didn't get it...the sky is actually a city from a high angle view at night and all the lights of the buildings and blocks looks like the stars, just to clear that up
