i think it's simple, understandable,
you're not making fun of them (jimi,..).

pretty basic, but it works.

Good work! I can imagine a million cheesy ideas, so well done. I like your art direction and the fact that it's really smooth as a series, partially due to the grain, if that makes any sense. The only thing I'd say is that using those pictures would be very costly.

I think Activision can swing it ;)

Not concerned with cost. This is spec.

I understand, hence the 'would'. It's good stuff nonetheless.

Thanks :)

Nice idea, but I still think you could push this.

Your perspective of putting the guitar into the hands of famous players is cool but consider if it was the perspective of the rock star on stage looking out at a crowd of rabid fans (specific to the bands you represented), who hasn't had that fantasy at one point or another. You are on to something...

Nice start, could be a great campaign.

Good is the enemy of great.

Hurm. I see what you mean. Obviously, the play here is ont he fact that the game is called "Legends of Rock", and so the guitar is featured prominently in legendaary rock scenes. The Back In Black Tour, Townshend smashing his shit on stage, Hendrix and Monterey, are all not only legendary, but guitar-specific iconic moments in rock history. I think puching it as far as being from the crowd's perspective would put it in danger of sailing the seas of cheese.

I think we're talking about different concepts here...U're on about bringing the audience on stage, where I'm talking about the player reliving the great moments. Plus, I get a chance to educate a little...I sincerely doubt the avg. teener has ever even HEARD of teh Who. (makes me feel old and farty.) Fortunately this is a heavily fragmented audience and we don;t have to speak to the stereotypical Nintendo audience :)

Hell, I know these moments well. Guess that makes me just as old and farty :)

I got where you are going for sure. Just thinking about what is the benefit to the end user and could that be pushed harder. Not saying my thought was any better or worse but this is what you would expect to see, kinda one step removed from the target. As you said the average teen is probably less familiar with these folks and concerts so why not a perspective that let's them live the moment. What ever that perspective may be.

Just my two cents

Good is the enemy of great.

CC3, I agree, that is one direction...but as I said before, it's a different concept. This is all about making the game part of the legend...yours is all about audience participation. It's a totally different direction. Also, like I said, the audience is so fragmented that the target audience is anyone with $90 and a console, so I'm obviously not targetting teens specifically. (Not everyone is Juno when it comes to musical taste :P)

It can easily be argued that the viewer will project themselves into the scene, regardless of the demographic. I know I wish like hell I was Joe Strummer smashing my gibby on the London Calling cover :)

At the end of the day, I wanted a fucking cool visual for a fucking cool game with a fucking killer title :)

CC3, I'd say that this version has been pushed much further than your suggested rockstar perspective, that's just plain obvious. Just my opinion though.

I like these, good stuff, i like the townsend on best, its very subtle.

the top button is green, not blue! ;)

those are cool, but try to cram the actual controller in there. guess its funnier when the guitars are smaller

It IS green!!!

Calibrate!

EDIT: I can see how it's reading as blue, actually. Hurm. Ah well. It's all because of lighting :)

Also, the controller IS in there, but adding any detail to is kills the visual as the Wiimote details are naturally invisible due to the nature of the lighting, treatment, etc. I thot about putting a glowing blue dot in....but decided that's one step too far.
