Fumando. (Cuban cigar magazine)

advertadvertadvert

New ads I'm considering for my book. For those who do not know the character in all 3 ads, it is Fidel Castro of Cuba.

I'm an art director intern, currently at The Richards Group in Dallas, TX.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

so that's why how the pope died. inhaled too much cigar smoke from fidel.

2 is bad, 3 is bad but 1 is horrible. how can u use children to sell cuban cigars?

Maybe concentrate on the creative side of conversation and not on the ethical.

it's creative but it hit some people ethically.

But you are right. i should not use kids.

If we were to talk creativity, then we shouldn't talk about these pieces of s***s at all!

i waited for 10 goddamn minutes for this piece o' crap to open (Thanx to the gravid file size), waited, waited...
Twit it went... They say shit happens. i'd suggest all of us to flush it and move on to better stuf... atleast than the ones posted above...

Cheers (Not)!!!

Ok. It seems you've got a lot of pretty negative criticism here.
I'll try to say something positive.
Cigars are Castro's cool trademark, we get that. But what if he didn't
smoke cigars? What if he had a completely different trademark? Maybe
you could show pictures of him in his younger days with a SERIOUSLY
uncool addiction (I don't know, maybe he liked to wear pince-nez or
spiked his hair up and dyed it pink or never went anywhere without his
teddy bear), then you could have an endline like "Castro's got a lot to
thank us for" - implying that it was the influence of the magazine tht
shaped his image as we know it today?
Just a suggestion...

It's just not relevant... You're selling a lifestyle product. Don't talk about how socially irresponsible it is. You have to get the strategy right, before going into any creative thinking.
