Not very persuasive if there's just one, many of these placed around major roads might work and with other lines as stsanto said. In Greece, when someone is killed on the road, their families erect small shrines at the side of the road where their loved one/s had died. I find this quite effective in reminding me that roads can be a dangerous place.
So I say, go for it.

thank davosk, i agreed with yur points..ya its just idea..which i will improve, secondthing i m from india and we r realising it very soon so idea is not only creat with one mile-stone..it will go with sevral..so..;)
If you really are going to execute it, work with some designer for a great grave, maybe like those clasical ones with angelic statue, carved stone, etc. Make it a grand one cos you only have less than 2 seconds to grab the attention of passing cars.
Another thing to keep in mind, something that is quite obvious: do you ever see people stick a photo on a pole, with flowers and teddy bear? it's obvious someone was killed on the spot because of accident. Get a photo of a model, and a note that can be read from 10 meter away "You said it was your last drink,... it was."
Another idea if you want to put some tombs along the line of the road (like what Davosk suggested), you can use the alcohol limit written on the tomb stone, say if the legal limit in Singapore is 80mg/100ml, you can put "82mg/100ml", then the next one is "85mg/100ml", then "81mg/100ml". Last one you can put "what's yours?" or "does number really matter?"

hey thanks a lot man..really pleased to caht with u..i will think hw to vreat idea..n will do fastest as possible..but i would like to say that in india..no body creat grav on road like singapore.n i like yur second idea to write in 82 mg..i think its good but aftr that i hav to com with my main idea..becuz of my target audience r indian.
Simple idea. DIG DEEPER! i think it would of being much better if you
used a real crashed car! a different one each week! We all go to the grave
anyway. Make your copy center aligned.
I agree with Marc G. Dig deeper. Tombstones are cliche. A real crashed car or just tons of flowers with candles alongside the road every couple feet is more intersting already.
And I believe I've heard "Don't Drink and Drive before." Great line. But it's done. Say it fresh.

amit, I'm just wondering, is there a big drinking culture in India?
ya i can say..becuz lots of road accident hapning by drinking
In my opinion, best campaign for this is Autralian one: "Drink, Drive, you bloody idiot"
ha ha ha ha aaaaaaaaaaaaaa....lol
It's, "If you drink and drive, your a bloody idiot".
Very effective road safety ad campaigns for the TAC
