For those who want to post work for critique:
• If you want constructive criticism of a concept, finished design or work-in-progress, post it here.
• Uploading images: Maximum file size is 500K; JPG and GIF formats are supported.
• Make sure you're posting in RGB format and not CMYK, as CMYK can not be viewed in some browsers.
• Don't forget to press the attach button after selecting the file.
• Provide background info (client, objective, audience, etc.) to help your peers evaluate it objectively.
• Expect honest, even blunt, commentary. Be professional in your response.
For those who critique on posted work:
• If you’re posting a critique of someone’s work, be respectful.
• Provide constructive feedback. “It sucks” is not appropriate—offer meaningful comments about the work.

here's a suggestion ivan:
Put a word blocker so that words like 'Crap', 'Fuckwit', 'Rubbish'
(and any other words that you can think of) can't be typed in the comment area.
They do it for company emails so I guess it can be done, right?
That way, even if people want to be sarcastically critical, they have to be creative about it.
and i'm sure we'll appreciate that more.
There is a spam filter that does something like that.

Just get people to ellaborate more. It's easy to say 'good idea, nice' but lets remember we're not here to blow sunshine up peoples arses, were here to help.
If they do a good press ad, tell them to make a campaign, if they have a good campaign tell them to think of how it could translate into ambient etc. Help people put legs on their ideas.

but it's better to say:
that idea is of rare intelligence. It's rare when it shows any. It can only be further improved by... (the improvement)
as opposed to:
that idea is crap, fuckwit and utterly rubbish.

sometimes you don't really have time to be ellaborate, but still you want to tell the guy or gal that you liked what they did. Hence the "i like it, it's good" type of comments.

Ivan, have you thought of a way to seperate student work and professional stuff, or produced work and unproduced work?
Personally I like to see all ideas and don't care whethere it has been made or not, but many posters seem to get upset if the ads aren't produced work.
Just a thought.
Yes, it's probably a good idea, but it will be hard for me to control and check whether a certain piece of work is indeed produced or not.
Fair enough, as I say, it's not a problem for me, but reading loads of comments saying 'fake', or 'scam' gets a little tiring.
I can see it would be difficult to seperate out.

Just wanted to bring something to your notice. I get a feeling that this forum is turning out to be a BASHING FOR FUN thing rather than a constructive criticism or healthy discussion forum. The idea of posting work here is to get various points of view that can help one improve his/her work. However there are only a few people (you and some other)who put in a serious thought in every work posted here and the rest of the gang is there to have fun.
Sometimes it's true. Feel free to point this out. It's a learning process. We can't police people, but we need to make them understand what the objectives are.
