So who are the top creative directors, anywhere, from any agency, that you would want to work for, mentor under or otherwise learn from? If you would like to elaborate on why, that would be great!

vincent raffray CD / tonic dubai - constantly raises the bar in Dubai and the middle east
icaro doria CW / Saatchi NY - cutting edge thinking
Tony Granger, Leo Premutico and Jan Jacobs - turned the crappy saatchi ny into agency of the year in cannes
erik Vervroegen - did the same to tbwa/paris
Nigel Roberts and Paul Belford - The economist
Adam tucker - harvey nickols
Marcello Serpa - best CD in Brazil
I really like Alexandre Herve and Sylvain Thirache from DDB Paris - if I were hiring, they would be on my recruiter's list
From a mentor's perspective, I like Ty Montague, Dan Wieden, and Kash Sree

Erik Vervroegen & David Droga. These guys are rock stars.
Robert Gaxiola from Bates Singapore cause he looks like Johnny Depp and I have a crush on Johnny Depp.
John Merrifield from TBWA Singapore cause his energy and drive is infectious.
Neil French & Indra Sinha. I'm a writer and I consider these guys as Gods. I have pictures of them on my desk that I pray to whenever I'm stuck.
Let's not get blinded by awards. A friend of mine got more gold in Cannes, D&AD and One SHow last year then the lot of Ibig indian agencies, by doing just one piece of ambient thing. I know lot of guys who are loaded with awards by doing one off clever visual ads, but I will not rate them the greatest.
No one mentioned Alex Bogusky. The guy really build that agency CP+B.
It is guys like Piyush Pandey who still rule becoz they put their country and agency on world map.
Unless you can write a creative breif, build a communication platform, win a pitch, and lead a team you would not be rated high, in real world. Ofcourse you are expected to do world class work and win awards, but these days even a junior can win a gold.

you know, I wouldn't recommend Bogusky because, while he is a brilliant man, I kind of see a consistant theme or philosophy with almost all CP+B ads, which is throwing down a challenge in a brash, sometimes overly assertive manner. For many brands, it works, but not all brands. I think that the ads CP+B create certainly appeal to me, and to the same type of person as me, but I don't see the flexibility i would like from such a top level guy.
new to the industry .. but I'd love to work with ari merkin. formerly of cp+b, fallon, and now at toy

9 out of 10 is not bad.
Ian Grais over Lubars and Serpa?
Right.
Obviously, you must work in Vancouver.
He is not even in the same league.
Good try.

Peow Peow!
whatever the fcuk happened to trevor beatie?
half of the cd's on this page haven't done an ad in years. clow spends his time giving pep talks, lubars checks into offices around the world and let's people show him work, french is stroking his ego but not much else, roberts had his original economist work when people with mullets were called hippies. few others on here are doing noteworthy work at present.
look to people at lower levels, not the top dogs that have long since become management. droga I understand, tucker or cabral are good as well, but nobody is mentioning people like eric silver and his little team that have done so much great work over the last few years at bbdo. I'd be willing to mention one or two people at 180 or 72andsunny if I knew their names.
and anyone thinking granger is hot shit can go working at a taco stand. scam-artist.
The Nike Football spot by Guy Richie was amazing.
