"I didn't realize I needed your consent to express myself. How stupid of me...
I just assumed it was an open forum.

May I please join in your conversation?"

Dear Jet,

I never gave you permission to express yourself, yet you continue to do so. You are a bad bad Jet.
The last thing I need here is someone saying that I said that they shouldn't express themselves. I never said you couldn't.
I just thought maybe you were jealous that I got to Joseph Campbell's posting before you had a chance. I was inviting you to join us, usually people just start blabbing on their own. I thought inviting you would be polite. But you are keeping me on a constant egg shell. I don't know how to walk on them without breaking your rules.

So. What would you like to talk about?

Sorry for intruding here, but I had to tell you how slow I am. I only just now realized that you got the theme behind my pseudonym when you called me a master of mythology. How dumb is that?

Also, did you see my latest 'myth' under the Parx Menswear ad? It was partly inspired by one of your comments so, naturally I should credit you.

We'll reconvene at 10.

that's okay. it was a somewhat obscure reference, but fitting with your mythical tales.

i do so appreciate your latest myth. your stories are so ripe with subtle details that i become ensconsed in them. do you do your own copywriting?

Thank you for the kind words. I started my career as an art director, but about 5 years in, I decided to try writing. I have written all of my life, but was more interested in art direction as a career, mostly becuase I am obsessed with typography and photography. I was a copywriter for two years and found that I really missed going on photoshoots, etc. (Ironically, the only time I got into the CA annual was as a copywriter -- in the design annual!)

Now I try to keep my writing to things like silly stories and mediocre screenplays. And this stuff here.

I find myself battling against my inner copywriter all the time. I don't sketch out ideas first, I write them out.
And the only award I've ever gotten were two "Frankie" awards for the same design. I'll not continue to explain what that is because it isn't worth it. You shouldn't bother looking it up either. God willing, you will never be awarded one.

Your stories aren't silly. They are just lovely! Like a beautiful dance. I find I can reflect on them during the day while I turn on "autopilot" and become a Mac monkey. Oh dear. That sounds so bleak and unsexy.
