Is there any social networking resources in Los Angeles?

Hello all. I am trying to find some networking resorces in Los Angeles. Online or actual groups or locations would be helpful.

Thank you.

I would start looking for the LA ad club. They probably have events. Also, AIGA LA has events once in a while. It's graphic design stuff, but I am sure they get photographers as well. In terms of online stuff, get on linkedin if you aren't already. I was never one for online social networking, but this is a professional networking site. I have had some luck there making connections and it is great for keeping track of connections you already have.

Thank you Laurie,
That is exactly what I was looking for.
I am new to linkedin so i haven't been able to explore it features and usefulness yet.
Your metro ads are super!
I like your photography as well

P.S. I was stung by a scorpion on the back of my neck, poolside at a hotel in the south of France. Holy Cow did that hurt!

Cool. Linkedin is super helpful. I use it a lot for "people searching." Instead of sending promos out to agencies with "creative director" or "creative recruiting" you can search by job title and company and get a persons name. I am also nosey so I like to see what everyone is up to.

Thanks for the feedback on my site. It's new so I am still working out what to show, what not to show. I am always changing it because my tastes change daily. Your site is pretty cool too. Super clean and easy to navigate. Your work is pretty sweet too. Photography is just a hobby for me now. I don't have the access to a lot of the equipment I did while I was in school. (We had a super cool studio space we could rent out.) So, now I do it mostly for friends which works for me.

And YEAH. Scorpions are no good. I am in Arizona now and the first time I was stung, the little effer was on my couch with me. SICK. The second time he was under my pillow. So I woke up at 4 am when I was stung on my arm. GROSS. And they are territorial so there is really no way to get rid of them. I ended up moving because I was weirded out.

"super clean and easy to navigate" thanks, that was the goal. Yey Live Books! Like you its an on going effort that is always changing. If you ever get out to LA email me and i can point you toward places for equipment and resorces. Otherwise remember, it's the eye not the gear. Keep shooting. If you ever want to collaborate or bounce some ideas around email me as well.
Great idea on linkedin, I am looking through there now.
When ever I am in the sand or desert environment anymore, I always shake out my boots.
You might think about a location on your contact page, I didn't catch it first on the main page when I was looking around
Best Regards,
Scott Shepard

Yeah I totally didn't put my location on my page because I am hoping to get out of here ASAP and back to LA. Feel free to add me on linkedin.
Thanks!
