hey ivan?

you're letting a lot of shit onto the front page lately.

sorry, it had to be said.

Ivan, I respect what you're doing here, but I hope this downturn in the quality of work put on the front page isn't an indication of industry trends...

In other words... Yeah, you're letting a lot of shit on the front page :(

suggestion: meritocracy.

you put files up, the star-voting system deletes what has less than three or four stars after a certain amount of time. perhaps three days, perhaps twenty votes. kind of like a flagging system like you see on craigslist.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the suggestions and the honesty. I will be extra selective from now on! :)

Yes and That makes things hard for us :((

The "meritocracy" system would only be as good as its judging committee and process.

While some of the scores here are legitimate, many are ridiculous.

true, many terrible commenters. they do seem to have something in common though: they register only to comment on one or two campaigns and leave the site again. I suspect the authors themselves being partly to blame.

so would barring people with less than x comments and y time since registration be of help? would it be worth a try?

Now THAT'S an idea!

I've certainly noticed a few like that. Like this guy for instance: http://adsoftheworld.com/user/papajohn
He's only commented on Swedish ads. Good comments for all DDB Stockholm ads and a bad comment for a Saatchi Stockholm ad. How obvious is that!
