About 'The coke side of life' campaign

Do you think that coke side of life campaign is successful? I've been writing dissertation about this, and I actually couldn't find any result of sales curves and other things or review that marks the success of this campaign (if it is succeed). If anybody know a scent about this matter could you please share with me where could I find any statistics and other stuffs that I might to know in writing coca cola campaign?

Thank you very much!!

I haven't seen or heard anything from that campaign; this is the first time I've even seen the tag... Perhaps I'm not in the target demographic?

Could you show us what you're talking about?

Take a look at this thread: http://adsoftheworld.com/forum/dungeon/what_is_the_coke_side_of_life

You will find links and some commentary.

I think Coke side of life is pretty fresh and as good as any of the campaigns Coke was running in the last 100 or so years. It doesn't have to break through, it has to maintain the momentum and it does that. They already have the number one most known brand of the world, it's hard to go beyond that. :)

I like some of the art, especially for the music ads, but the coke side of life print ads (particularly this one http://adsoftheworld.com/media/print/coca_cola_coke_side_of_life_1 ) It looks like they just hired an illustrator to graft their style onto coke's brand. I've seen so much of that vector character design that I find it neither refreshing nor impressive; it's just riding a trend.

Some of the spots are fun to watch, but say nothing about the product or brand (what can you say about sugar water that is partly responsible for the sharp increase in cases of type II diabetes?) I think that the tag "Coke side of life" itself has receded, as evidenced by the fact that although I have seen those spots, I never noticed the tag line. It's either in the presentation or the concept, but as a tag, it's weak.

As you say, they pretty much have a monopoly in cavity-enducing beverages, so they could do anything they want with their brand. It's the double-edged sword of running such a brand: You're free to do whatever you want with your advertising because you practically own the industry, but you're limited by the fact that your product has no actual tangible benefits. Coke is a case-study of how good marketing can sell a terrible product.
