Racial/nationality bias in recruitment
lightall28 22 pencils | Wed, 2010-02-24 03:33OK, so we all know that the whites (Brits, americans, and russians for KEY posts) get paid more. This is followed by the wannabe whites who speak french, arabic, and engish ( at least passably).
But how many have you come across an actual communication from a top agency, sending a note to the HR Chief saying, "This one (sic) is Indian and Married".
The vacancy was for the post of a senior english copywriter, with no mention about 'native speakers required'.
The agency is TBWA Zeenah, Oman. I am forwarding this supposedly confidential mail to Ivan. If he sees it fit, because names are involved', I am sure he will copy paste the entire sequence of communication here.
FRIENDS, RECRUITMENT PATTERNS ARE NOT GOING TO CHANGE.
HOWEVER, THERE IS A MORAL TOTHE STORY:
Check recepient IDs carefully, before hitting the 'Reply All'
Ensure the grammar and usage is correct
Be sure your personal biases are not reflected in an e-mail.
Thanks & Best Wishes,
Lal Jacob

I don't see a point of escalating this issue.
Guess you are right. Just needed to vent the steam. Thanks.
